Instead of expressing remorse, Ferrer makes his statement all about himself

He further made allegations not proved in trial like Doug Anderson's alleged heroin use and disparaged the character of Doug Anderson instead of expressing remorse. He started out his statement by pointing out errors in the probation report, basically regurgitating what his attorney, Mr. Marek Reavis had stated earlier.

Then he went on and on about national stats on "prosecutorial misconduct." When he finally got to what he considered remorse, his statements were peppered about how sorry he was for himself.

"I am very remorseful." His voice was very nonchalant and without any emotion. "It is a tragic and complex situation."

Examples of what Ferrer thinks is remorse:

"Roger Rees thinks I am Charles Manson, the family hates me."

"Arnie Klein and the media exploited the family's feelimgs."

"The system and the mainstream media made him stressed."

"It was just a really bad night.

He mentioned that he was a bisexual feminine man and "a lot of sex play was thrown my way" in jail and he feared this in prison.

Ferrer's family members were seated behind me and some of them sobbed as Ferrer made his statement before he was sentenced.

As he was being led away in cuffs, he turned to his family and said, "I'll be all right, I'll appeal and win."
