Two protestors outside Wharfinger?

One woman standing at the back of a room with a small picture pinned on her shirt. Could just be someone who lost a family member and not a protestor. She was talking to Andrew Goff from LOCO.

Ceremony over and Andrew told me she is protesting. I did not talk to either of them. They have chosen to air their grievances on blogs. Did they ever approach the Chief first? This was not the time and place to protest, much less express grief.

Anyone who exploits their grief by egging them on to deal with this via social media is like an ambulance chasing lawyer.

Another woman standing outside with a sign talking to an onlooker, fellow protestor. She is definitely a protestor but they were not disruptive and now the event is over.

  1. Maybe if media provided this family member (and eye witness's) equal coverage of the event, or even reported that Tommy had never been arrested; maybe if the coroner wasn't withholding his report from the family for 2 months; maybe if the police chief wasn't taking 2 months for a police report; maybe if the chief had slightly delayed the promotion of the officer in charge of that tragedy; maybe if the media rightfully questioned these things, and for example, how the chief can claim that it was a "justifiable killing" weeks before his own investigation was complete; Maybe if the local media were less willing to merely regurgitate the chief's assertions; maybe if Tommy hadn't been hit by so many bullets while complying, (like a mafia execution), maybe if there were not a stray bullet lodged in Tommy's home where two children slept, then, maybe, there would be no compulsion to protest this event.

And you wonder why there's so many lawsuits? What do they cost us?

You certainly haven't reported why these witness's were protesting here, a glaring and prejudicial omission.

    1. Maybe, just maybe, if you would read the post again and the entire coverage of that day, you would not be making this comment.

Maybe, if you were not someone who is most likely a plant for the very blogs spinning misfacts and their own interpretation , you would be credible.

Do you have a clue how media works? Try reading a blog or media source which is by people who have a background in journalism and people who have a knowledge how the legal process and other procedures work.

You are metely regurgitating the Tuluwat Examiner and Liberal Jon spin.

The chief shared what he could during the initial stages of investigation and recently he has said he could speak with the family.

So have they made that appointment?

You do not even have a verifiable name or address and I doubt you care about the family, more about pushing an agenda and exploiting family members hurting right now.

  2. Jay, we just have your word about this conversation with Chief Mills and you are entitled to your opinion about the officer and Tommy.

None of that makes it facts. Chief Mills explained many times what he could say or not say, especially when the investigation is going on. The family should not have gone to blogs who have an anti police agenda.

There have been many deaths last year. There are laws and processes to be followed to be fair to all involved.

There are many people who are not Tommy's family or friends and I don't see any protest against them using his death for their political lynching of the EPD.
