Details unconfirmed but another Judge dealing with same issues Judge Reinholtsen was admonished for

I know the name of the Judge but not going to print it right now. So far the only details are that Judge is behind paperwork, same issues as Judge Reinholtsen.

Stay tuned for more.

What if there is too much "duty" for any single human being to be expected to perform? What if there is so much of it that one person can't do the work assigned no matter how efficient they happen to be?

I mean, if you're an ancient Egyptian and the Pharaoh cruises by on his chariot, stops by and says, "You will build me a 300 foot tall pyramid, I'll be by next Fall to move in..." it doesn't matter how efficient of a pyramid building you are... Pharaoh is going to be disappointed.

My understanding (and Mr. Chiv should feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) is Judge Reinholtsen got himself in trouble not by being behind in his work (which is understandable) but because he signed financial documents saying he was caught up on his work so he could get paid. In some circles that would be considered fraud.

I don't know about the present case Mr. Chiv talks of. If he/she is merely behind that person has my sympathies. If that person wrote a few fibs to get paid... well that is a different matter.

I'd rather hear more, including the judge's side of the issue, before passing judgment.

It is also my understanding that our local court system is shy two judges and there is a huge backlog of homicide cases to try. That may have something to do with the problem.

  2. MOLA excellent comment. And the questions you raise MOLA are good ones. We never know until an investigation is launched and completed, then we just know the end result.

I especially like your statement about what if there is too much duty for one single human being to perform.

  3. I have heard this rumor too. I know an attorney was asked for his input. It might go somewhere. It might go nowhere. The fact of the matter is that the court system is short 2 whole Judges. There are only 7 Judges so if you are short 2 then math says each Judge is doing 28.5% extra work. Having worked in an overworked and understaffed DAs office, I know the effect of this situation more than most. The legislature needs to assist and the county needs to properly fund the government so people are not being overworked to the point that we have now made the headlines.
