No defects found by NTSB in Kia Jason Warren was driving, today's testimony builds on details in prosecution's case

Keeping his presentation focused and to the point, Mendocino Assistant DA Paul Sequeira is doing an excellent job presenting the People's case against Jason Warren.

The first witness to testify today was Jerome Cantrell, a mechanical inspector with the National Transportation Safety Board.

Answering detailed questions, the gist of his testimony was that there were no defects in the grey 2005 Kia Spectra that Jason Warren was driving when he allegedly ran down three joggers, killing Suzanne Seemann and Jessica Hunt's dog, Maggie.

Using photographs and testimony by Officer Charles Steen, Mr. Sequeira very effectively demonstrated the impact and devastation on the victims that were hurt and killed on September 27, 2012.

Items such as the silver and turquoise sneaker, the headlamp identified by Hunt and Little, tufts of hair the jury saw just a day ago, with measurements ranging from 145 to 232 feet, Steen's testimony was the most emotional part of this morning.

Warren, sat as usual, devoid of any emotion or reaction, with his head pointed down at the table as he heard testimony. Other witnesses included Debbie Zanotti who found the abandoned Kia in the parking lot of the Eureka Adult Day Care Center on California Street, Regina Payne who found Dorothy Ulrich's wallet tossed on the patio of the Eureka Adult Day Care Center and Leslie Avila, co-owner of Indianola Storage. A still from surveilance of video from the storage center was shown to the jury before court recessed for the morning.
