Sheriff Downey's touching tribute to Corporal Rich Schlesiger who lost with his battle with cancer
"With a heavy heart, I have to report that Corporal Rich Schlesiger lost his battle with Cancer yesterday afternoon. Rich exemplified what it is to be a Deputy Sheriff. I was one of the fortunate ones to have worked with him and to have known him. He leaves behind a wife (Morgan, HCSO Dispatcher) and three children" ~Sheriff Mike Downey

He faced every battle and challenge with all he had. A winner by nature, a humanitarian by choice and a memory that will never die. This life was one that rightfully should be celebrated. And those he left behind thanked, for giving him the determination and drive to be the man he was.
