Last night around 9 p.m. a white male dressed in a light sweatshirt and shorts tried first to break in the Empire Store than the Eureka Advanced Cellular store with a shelf bracket he dug out from a rolling garbage can.
Both Advanced Cellular and NorCalBonds have him on video.
I was walking by the Advanced Cellular store moments ago and saw EPD Officer Ben Omey walk in. I was there when Officer Omey was taking a police report and watching the video. I also saw the video. The suspect tried to kick the back door and break in at Advanced Cellular. He was unsuccessful. Advanced Cellular owner, Robert, told me there was slight damage to the door. No one was in the stores at that time.
There was a man matching the sane description arrested last night with the same M.O. and Officer Omey is checking to see if it is the same person.
