"We don't need more minimum wage jobs, we need more living wage jobs" , ILWU Local 14 endorses Larry Doss, Nick Angeloff and Susan Rotwein

ILWU Local 14, Longshoremen Union local 14 is endorsing Larry Doss, Nick Angeloff and Susan Rotwein.

I spoke with Larry Doss recently. and he gave me a sneak peek into Larry's ideas for Humboldt Harbor District

"One of the reasons I chose to run for this position was because I feel the Harbor District needs a business focus. There is a lot of conservation and recreation focus but it is not balanced with commerce," said Mr. Doss.

"There are entities that want to ship via the Humboldt Harbor, but the current sentiment is not business friendly. These are profitable shipping opportunities for the County that would bring additional income, additional  jobs and benefit spinoff industries such as tourism."

"We are a deep water port and we should utilize this resource. Smaller D class ships can come in and out of our port easily. "

"Around the bay is not a place to grow cannabis, but I am open to working with other business opportunities when cannabis gets legalized. If it is a legal business, there is no business we should not study."

"We don't need more minimum wage jobs, we need more living wage jobs."

  1. It is not the talk of a political that makes them good in office but the walk they do to get the job done.
