Disclaimer: The serious accusations by two people mentioned in this post are claims they provided with no evidence. There is no confidentiality for people who waste my time, try and use me, send me claims without any proof. I use my name, I take the risk and have suffered many consequences from valid news I post. I am not interested in the constant bs, petty drama and agendas of Humboldt.
No matter what I do to change content or ignore; the toxic sludge persists. Most have received the message but the evil in Humboldt who thinks I am their therapist, their advocate, adds to my stress with their darkness and continues to misuse my time, try to trap me, dump their misery on me and spread lies refuse to change.
People, especially defendants and parties send me bs tips about judges, lawyers, Humboldt Superior Court more than elected officials and business leaders with no evidence and claims I can easily disprove by just checking e court. I don't know if these people are stupid or their anger makes them not give a damn. I see the people you are making claims about every day. I can tell a bs tip and agenda immediately and I do not need your help doing watchdog journalism.
If you try to use me because of your personal agenda with someone, if you try to use me because of your issues with Humboldt Superior Court or Gregory Kreis or anyone else and waste my time with what is not news and claims without evidence; there is no confidentiality. People spread lies about me all the time and I struggle enough doing valid news in this petty, retaliatory County.
Lot of people in Humboldt know someone in the court system. The man who called me makes an accusation, provides no evidence.
Knowing people in the court system is similar to what another family member of Ray Christie's told me after his 2018 plea deal except that family member was more specific. Again, that person made accusations without providing any proof. I saved that email and made copies. That person's email has other information about another court case and long rambling nonsense about Humboldt Superior Court This is where that person mentions Kreis whose name is misspelled.
Ray Christie's plea deal was done in a closed courtroom. It was during an intervention. So I did not go to the hearing. I had no idea a plea was being negotiated. Not one person or any other local media spoke up about this deal done in secret. Former Humboldt Superior Court Judge Gregory Kreis had been assigned to the case but since Retired Judge Christopher Wilson was familiar with the case; he was also involved in the plea deal, according to Ray Christie.
Kreis has resigned. He is no longer a judge. He was removed by the voters. Humboldt Superior Court has never taken a plea in a closed courtroom. I wrote about this when it happened and Humboldt Superior Court never addressed why. I am not saying that there was anything untoward about the plea deal but Humboldt Court's silence about it makes it worse. The fact that one the judges involved, Kreis, was formally censured and disciplined by the California Commission on Judicial Performance and now practices as an attorney in Humboldt Superior Court shows just how arrogant Humboldt is and that some people are selectively judged and can go about business as usual while others' livelihood is affected if you are targeted by the Humboldt cabal. If Kreis or Humboldt Superior Court has an issue with the claims raised by these bs unsubstantiated tips about Ray Christie; they can take it up with the people who made this claim and not me. I did Kreis and Humboldt Superior Courts a favor by putting this out but I won't expect gratitude.
To the man who called me. I am not going to look into anything unless you and the family member who emailed me are willing to go on record and provide a declaration that can be filed in court with your names. I am also done with people who want to give "tips" with no evidence, making claims about people and Humboldt Superior Court and expect me to continue doing investigave when the other local media won't. When I face retaliation and financial consequences; where are you? Humboldt has never paid or compensated me for my past volunteer work and has not for the blog while profiting from me daily. I do it for the pursuit of the truth and the community. In addition, lies are spread about me and my integrity. Just this weekend, I found out about a lie to discredit me. The person(s) lying about me are despicable but what is worse that the people who believed the lie. I don't blame them completely. You cannot trust anyone in Humboldt.
I have my opinion about Ray's plea deal. I have my opinion about a lot of people who should be "looked into" in Humboldt and I agree Humboldt is a joke.
There were mistakes made by the County and the DA's office with Ray Christie's case and the plea deal prevented further embarassment for HCSO and the DA and only I covered those details. Ray Christie also had a very good LA lawyer. That is why he got a plea deal.
Who gets prosecuted and who gets left alone in Humboldt is a joke. The problem is leadership in every level of Humboldt from courts, businesses and politics and those who could corroborate and expose who keep silent because the alternative is legal retaliation, being jobless and homeless.
I have received more than a few emails where people beg me to write about stuff because the CJP won't give them the time of day. I can't help you when the people and agencies support to protect the people won't. I am not going to take the misdirected wrath from people who attack me and threaten me instead of going after the people who are gossiping, lying or trying to use me. To Ray Christie's credit, I have been critical of him and done truthful coverage and not once has he retaliated against me or been disrespectful to me.
Not only do I not get compensated for the news and service I provide, I cannot pursue legal action against people lying and defaming me. Lawyers want money. The only private law firm in Humboldt that has taken on a local landlord or cases for the downtrodden without money upfront is Janssen Malloy.
We have Rentor, formerly RPM Humboldt, settling case after case, they just change their business name and continues on like usual. Rick Littlefield with five DUIS is lauded by local press and went on with his business, which I was told, is now owned by his manager. We have Pritesh Patel who owns multiple hotels in Humboldt County pleaded guilty to welfare fraud and goes about business as usual. Yes, Humboldt is a joke.
I haven't had time since May 2025 to post on this 2020 when Darus Trutna was associated with PPM investments.
The people who have the power to hold such people accountable are fellow business owners. Why are they not held accountable but Ray Christie targeted? Humboldt is a joke by allowing certain people to hang out in the Chamber of Commerce, continuing doing business and I am not talking about Ray Christie
Ray Christie may not be an angel but he has helped people. That is more than I can say for many wealthy in this community, the Ingomar crowd, the Elks and Rotarians who are too busy sipping drinks and whining about others and judging those who dont meet their community standard of success. Who cares what these people think?
They need to look at their own children and family members who many support because they have no jobs or run businesses into the ground. They are mad because I cover their children and family members' court cases just as I would any other court case but that is journalism.
If you have enough money and can hire a good lawyer, Dumboldt Superior Court caves and treats you differently. That is true nationally but in a larger city, people have more options if they don't have money and more lawyers with cajones to stand up for justice.
This reader with an Idaho number is responding to an October 9 post I did in which I mentioned Jack Rawson and Ray Christie. I have no idea why people who leave Humboldt follow Humboldt news unless they still have family or business here. I wouldn't. In this case, the number traces back to a family member of Ray Christie. I unexpectedly saw Ray Christie today while getting coffee. He declined any comment but confirmed he has a brother in Idaho with a phone number with that area code. I looked up the number and it is listed to someone with the last number Christie. It is the same name of a family members of Ray Christie.
Not sure how this reader got my phone number. In his voicemail, he mentions no longer living in Humboldt. Whether he actually lives in Idaho or not; I have no idea. He did not leave a name. I cropped out the phone number.

Since most people do not bother to read links provided, I have included some relevant portions to put the reader's comment in perspective.
Political and personal prosecutions and the criminal justice system have made headlines in the national media and as usual, people believe what they hear and see with a partisan bias and money has always controlled mainstream media. Anyone who disputes that, I have a bridge to sell you.
Humboldt is no different than the nation except that the personal and political has an extra vicious, mean and selective element here.
The DA went after Ray Christie, now Jack Rawson. Your personal feelings about them or the DA's office or law enforcement are irrelevant. In Humboldt most people do not know Ray or Jack or others personally. People are not black or white. People tend to jump to conclusions on either no interaction or their limited interaction with someone and in Humboldt, some people just obsess with an agenda and are too lazy to look at facts or investigate and research further.
They believe gossip, anons online or what someone they know told them about strangers whether it is the truth or not and have no problem targeting selectively instead if dealing with their own misery, boredom and issues. There isn't a shortage of who could be prosecuted and investigated but in Humboldtia, who ends up in the criminal justice system is the bigger story.
