Defense wins ruling regarding bite marks on Mia's forearm, psychotic breakdown ruling deferred

 

People rested their case and defense is now presenting evidence in the Daniel Dozier jury trial.

On 5/24, Judge Steven Steward deferred a ruling on psychotic breakdown but he ruled in favor of defense asking about bite mark on Mia Felder's forearm. On 5/28 Dozier testified and on 5/30 some issues raised about defense expert Dr Geoffrey Loftus' testimony. 

You can read more details in the court minutes. This trial is so well run because of two professional and experienced attorneys; Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees and Ms. Andrea Sullivan as well as the way Judge Steward runs his courtroom and the thought and time he puts into his rulings.

When both sides are well matched and you have a fair Judge who is knowledgeable about the law who takes into consideration any issue that can be appealed; the victim, the defendant, the jurors and the community are well served.

From HCSO to Rio Dell Police Chief and now Cal Poly Humboldt

Former HCSO Sgt. Greg Allen who left the County to become Rio Dell Police Chief is now employed by Cal Poly Humboldt as the new police chief. 

I hope his next career move is to run for Sheriff because CPH does not deserve him. Chief Allen's experience, temperament would be better served in an environment where law enforcement and community are supported. While the County has issues, anything is better than working for the disaster that is the current CPH administration.

In addition to Chief Allen, the University Police Department has two former HCSO employees, Peter Cress and Joseph Conlin.

Rio Dell hired former police chief Conner as interim police chief until August 2024; then he plans to retire by the end of the year. Rio Dell is accepting applications for a new police chief.

College of Redwoods case dismissed against Breckenridge, County TRO continued due to 5th amendment concerns and criminal case

 

On 5/23, in CV2400877 County of Humboldt vs Frederick Breckenridge, a TRO had been granted in part. A hearing in that case was continued to 7/23  "due to the criminal case and 5th amendment concerns, " according to Deputy County Counsel Thomas Chapin. Court minutes indicate Breckenridge asked that this hearing trail his criminal case. First District Supervisor Rex Bohn, the alleged victim was not present. County Counsel has two witnesses. TRO remains in effect.

Yesterday, in CV2400898 College of the Redwoods vs Frederick Breckenridge, there was no proof of service and no appearance by either party. The case was dismissed without prejudice and temporary orders previously granted have been vacated. Breckenridge posted bond on 5/30 and is out of custody.

Released to the Public Guardian last year, James Pawlyk is back in custody for attempted murder and assault

 

I covered  James Pawlyk from 2017 to 2023. He was released to the Public Guardian and status of his conservatorship. He was arrested yesterday for PC 664/187 (a) attempted murder and PC 245 (c) assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.

The taxpayers have paid for his stints to the State Hospital, legal expenses, custody expenses, waste of law enforcement resources and using up a jail bed for repeated arrests where he drags out court proceedings by refusing to come to court. The cycle will probably repeat itself with this repeat offender and the way Humboldt Superior Court works. While Pawlyk may put on his colorful performances again in court, it is a waste of time to follow each hearing. Let's see what happens with this arrest.

Last month's press release did not generate enough civil grand jury applicants

 

Time to throw old letterhead away and correctly identify the current Humboldt Superior Court Presiding Judge Kelly Neel. Maybe, if the Board of Supervisors actually listened to the recommendations, people would apply. Maybe if more people could afford to take days and weeks off instead of struggling to get by in Humboldt, one press release would be enough. No one wants to sit in a stuffy small room in a building with poor ventilation and limited bathrooms because there is  constant construction and the County takes months to complete work that could be completed over a weekend.

DA left out what they wanted from Sam Williams case, it took an attorney to amend a memo, what else do we not know?

 

There was an initial memo from Sheriff William Honsal, a response from former HCSO Sam Williams' attorney, an amended memo and an email personally sent from Williams to Sheriff Honsal. All are lengthy, I have provided excerpts from the first three documents mentioned but am printing the entire email from Williams. The response from Williams' attorney contains information he mentions in his personal email to Sheriff Honsal.

I covered the case, the preliminary hearing, the trial. You can compare those posts, testimony and court records. I saw the video, the jurors saw the video, the jurors did not want to convict Williams. All this has been previously reported. If you read my post about William's email to his former colleagues, you definitely want to read this email. 

I have spoken about selective justice, selective enforcement numerous times. Anyone who has had their own experience with HCSO, the DA's office,the local courts will have deja vu reading this email from Williams who served this community for over two decades. There were no issues prior to this case. When Williams was arrested and charged, I did my own research into his alleged victim via court records on my own. This was before the preliminary hearing.

Nothing will change as long as Rex Bohn, Michelle Bushnell, Honsal, the Maggie -Eads administration who benefit from each other being in office and their cronies allow selective targeting and personal agendas to dictate what happens at 825 5th Street. The power of the people ousted Gregory Kreis. The only reason these others keep getting re-elected is because of apathy, weakness and selfishness. 

Sam Williams email to Sheriff Honsal:

Sheriff,

I know my attorney filed a response to the memorandum you wrote, but I also had some additional things I wanted to share. First of all, you know me well enough to know that I take responsibility for my actions and mistakes, and I own them when I make them. I don’t blame shift and I don’t shirk away from consequences. That said, I believe what happened to me was wrong on many levels, and the story that was painted was done so in a certain way to suit the narrative that was initiated from the start. My life has been utterly destroyed, along with my children’s lives. At this point, all I care about is the truth and it being told.  So I apologize in advance for the lack of brevity, there is no way to cover the issues that way.

If the memorandum had simply said, I was being terminated because I was found guilty of a crime that made me ineligible to be a police officer in the state of California, I would have had no further input on that. However, the synopsis prepared in the memorandum of intent to discipline/terminate, did not contain an accurate representation of the facts in this case, nor was it consistent with testimony offered in the trial. Since this document will be a matter of public record, I felt it was prudent to dispute the information in an effort to make sure that it is as accurate and factually concise as it can be, based on the evidence.

Had former Governor Brown and his team heeded warnings from local attorneys, the Kreis disaster and destruction of lives could have been avoided

 

I have contacted the California State Bar to see if Gregory Kreis has applied to reinstate his law license. I had already reported previously about Kreis seeking to practice law, most recently in a May 22 post with a court filing in Kreis' family law case and his own declaration.

I checked the State Bar website again this afternoon. It is now updated and the joke of aState Bar reinstated Kreis' license instead of disbarment.

I received an email from California State Bar minutes late afternoon. "Received your emails, Mr. Chiv. We will get back to you. Thank you."

The State Bar followed up with another response on 5/31. "Mr. Kreis was returned to active status as an attorney on May 28, 2024. To your other request for Andrew Isaac records, and others, related to the State Bar’s Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE)  investigative work, any responsive records would be part of JNE’s investigation process and are confidential and exempt from disclosure pursuant to California Government Code section 12011.5(f) and State Bar Rule 7.20."

Before Kreis was appointed in 2017 by former Governor Jerry Brown, the local bar was polled. This happens for all judicial candidates. The State Bar was given feedback, they and the Governor's office had warning including a written response by former Deputy District Attorney Andrew Isaac. I have asked the California State Bar for all those written responses. If they are confidential, the State Bar can let me know.

"My written response to the request for input regarding Kreis led to a phone call from the Governor's office," Mr. Isaac told me. "They ignored me. And here we are. Exactly as I predicted."

Thousands of lives destroyed by an incompetent man who admitted 17 out of 21 counts and disgraced the Humboldt bench. 

Others mentioned in the CJP proceedings, Kreis' fiance, his friends, his enablers, still work at 825 5th street. To think Kreis will not have influence or access to information or be in a position to retaliate against anyone he wants is naive.

Sheriff Honsal did ask IT to remove Sam Williams email from the system

 

On May 15, I did a post on an email former HCSO Lt. Sam Williams sent to his colleagues. The post on the email was read by many people.I have  provided a link to that post and included the email in this post. Today, the County responded to my PRA requests about the email.

"The county has located records that are responsive to your request. Redactions have been made pursuant Government Code 7922.00"

It does confirm the tips I received and my reporting that Sheriff William Honsal asked IT to remove Sam's email from the system. I had contacted Sheriff William Honsal before my PRA request. I did not hear from him.

I already reported on this but if the CJP accepts, Gregory Kreis will never be a judge in California and they did make the deal

The Commission on Judicial Performance did accept a deal. They issued a press release and decision. The deal meant Kreis got rid of the cocaine allegations referred to by his ex wife and Joanne Carter. He had been mentioning that last month before he left to go on the one month vacation and resign.The count mentioning former court clerk Lois Casacca talking about him and his fiancee Tanya Ellis is also gone. Convenient for a lot of people who would have to testify. Kreis admitted to 17 out of 21 counts.

I have never seen such strong wording before by the CJP.  Kreis admitted the charges in the stipulation. Can't claim innocence now. It is the same as pleading guilty. He settled with Rory Kalin. He is settling now. All that bravado by Kreis and his lawyer, James Murphy, who were quoted nationally when the allegations came out.

 Kreis' lawyer can now add to his resume that two judges he recently represented are no longer on the bench and removed in disgrace. Shasta County's Tony Mallery was the other judge removed. The CJP making sure that  Kreis is never a judge a part of the stipulation speaks volumes.

You dont settle and you dont admit to charges unless you know the evidence can convict you and you face more serious consequences.  

I knew Humboldt Superior Court would probably issue a press release today. I already reported that Ms. April Van Dyke has submitted an application to Governor Gavin Newsom to be appointed interim and take over the vacancy created by Kreis.

I reported on a deal several times. This is just one more official confirmation of what I have reported and scooped. I was the only one to consistently report on Kreis' conflicts of interest with David Nims, Patrik Griego, what I call the Janssen Malloy special court deals, the only one to cover the Ben Erickson case, the only one to say he was being investigated by the CJP in 2020 and all this was confirmed later. Real investigative, watchdog journalism is even more necessary now because most media, especially what used to be considered "mainstream" is dwindling.

When you read personal, unsubstantiated attacks online against me by anons, they do include lawyers and courthouse insiders. And they always follow days of reporting valid information to the public such as the injustice and abuse of power emanating from 825 5th street. 

All this because I wrote in real time about what the CJP confirmed in the notice of formal proceedings and this stipulation. This stipulation does not cover so many instances of Kreis' abuse of power. 

Has Kreis learned his lesson? His words and actions until the very last day he was at the Courthouse before he left for vacation indicate he has not; will he retaliate and plot revenge?

Two arrested on sex charges involving a minor and drug charges

Two arrests at the same time yesterday for sex charges involving a minor and drug charges. One is a convicted felon also charged with conspiracy and firearm charges. I have linked two previous posts on Reed.

Socorro Cervantes alleges sexual harassment by the man who is listed as a victim in one of her criminal cases and has a temporary restaining order against her

 

Criminal proceedings have been suspended in the2024 cases against former Humboldt Superior Court assistant operations manager Socorro Cervantes. Dr. Rassi's reports are due on 5/29. In a related civil case, a temporary restraining order has been granted against her. Cervantes requested a continuance in that case and the 5/17 hearing was continued to 6/21. One of the alleged victims in one of her criminal cases is William Puryear.

In her response filed on 5/17, Cervantes alleges sexual harassment by Puryear and claims Puryear referred to himself as a "dirty old man."

Man charged with 3 sex offenses involving a minor gets two charges dismissed and a two year sentence plea deal

 

Dakota Stanley is charged with PC288.4(b) arranging a meeting with a minor to commit a lewd and lascivious act and PC 288.2(a)(2) sending harmful material to seduce a minor and PC 311.11 (a) possession of child pornography.

His preliminary hearing was scheduled for 5/21. Instead, he resolved his case for a two year low term sentence for PC288.4(b) and had the two more serious charges dismissed.

Cruz waiver denied, Jeon Durr resolves case and avoids conviction for attempted murder and torture

 

Jeon Durr resolved his case yesterday before his preliminary hearing. Sentencing is on 6/24. Durr's entered an open plea with the condition of probation. Judge Lawrence Killoran denied Durr's Cruz waiver request. Durr pleaded guilty to domestic violence, false imprisonment and special allegation of great bodily injury. Attempted murder, battery and torture charges were dismissed.

Humboldt Bar Association President and former Public Defender Jennifer Dixon severely injured in 7th and I seven car collision two days ago

 

This news is already making the rounds at the Courthouse and in order to get some facts out, I have some exclusive information from an eye witness from the multiple vehicle collision on I street two days ago. The eye witness did not give too any details at EPD's request becaus  it could compromise the ongoing investigation.

In order to dispel any rumors about injuries to one of the victims, I am doing this post which includes a message via her colleague, friend and local attorney Mr. Douglas Kaber,

There were 7 cars involved. In addition to the male pedestrian who died, one of the people severely injured is Humboldt Bar Association President and former Public Defender Jennifer Dixon. Ms. Dixon had left her office on 7th and I, "her vehicle was hit from behind by another vehicle traveling at great speed." That impact caused her to collide with other vehicles. The yellow marks in the crosswalk near 7th and I is where Ms. Dixon was injured. The other photo shows skid marks.While stairs were hit in this multi vehicle collision, other damage is from "two or three months ago."

An ambulance transported Ms. Dixon to Providence. Ms. Dixon suffered multiple fractures and broken bones. She is awake and alert. Ms. Dixon is still in the hospital, is expected to return to full duty although recovery time is uncertain. It could be months.

Ms. Dixon appreciates and thanks everyone in the legal community who has reached out. Ms. Dixon is asking for privacy while she heals and asking "for no visitors at this time." She does not want flowers but cards or messages can be sent to Kaber Law offices. Ms. Dixon and Kaber Law offices share an office suite. I saw Mr. Kaber near 7th and I this morning. He is still upset, shocked and teared up while talking about his friend and colleague. Mr. Kaber and Ms. Dixon both work in juvenile and dependency court and see each other daily.

"Her personality and wit is intact," said Mr. Kaber. "While she has no memory of the incident, she still remembers what happened in court earlier that day."

St. Bernard's priest Fr. Bernard was on the scene before police arrived on Wednesday and was helping people.

Since Allen McCloskey consistently misuses media for selfish purposes without verifiable evidence, the chairman and anyone in this photo can chose to respond or use this post as documentation and contact Allen regarding his allegations

 

It is my understanding and / or it has been reported to me that this photo was taken while the chairman should have been in session for the MMIW conference in Sacramento with the governor and other officials. 

Does the Yurok tribal chairman Wish to provide a comment on why he is being photographed here with this well known porn star?? And why this extracurricular activity allegedly took precedent over his duties as Chair and his obligation to remain in “session” as Chair of the “ Largest tribe in the state of California”. 

The photo and claims above are from Allen McCloskey. He just assumes everyone will recognize who the chairman is and provides no evidence as usual about who he is referring to as a porn star or why. Since Allen McCloskey consistently misuses media for selfish purposes without verifiable evidence, the chairman and anyone in this photo can chose to respond or use this post as docmentation and contact Allen regarding his allegations . I had to block him on Facebook but from past experience, he sends emails about the same Facebook posts where he tags people. 

After my post last night on Sherri Provolt, I was not surprised to get this from Allen McCloskey. While I trust other sources who have sent me information about local tribes and leadership, I do not trust Allen McCloskey. However, some of the issues he raises are of concerns to others who have provided evidence to me and after this post, others will probably contact me.

 In several emails sent to me, Allen McCloskey has included Yurok Tribe Councilmembers and leaders. He has also sent the same information to Lost Coast Outpost, Kym Kemp, Mad River Union, Times Standard and Two Rivers Tribune. There has been no coverage just as all other local media ignoring Javier Kinney's DUI arrest, Raymond Bacon and John Provolt cases. The same leaders and officials have ignored addressing any arrests or allegations. They need to do so with independent media or issue a public statement.

After my post was published, I heard from someone who knows Allen well and I won't print what they said about Allen but my description of him is tame compared to what many think of him.

"The photos of the Chairman of Yurok Tribe and Chairman of the Wilton Rancheria, among others, was with Kimberly Jones aka lil Kim, one of the most famous female rappers alive, at an annual government function in Sacramento. McCloskey has no clue as to the identity of the lady in the photo, calling her a “pornstar”, because he is an idiot."

Has Sherri Provolt been formally charged fraud, perjury and corruption in office

 

I received this minutes ago. 

Yurok Tribal Councilwoman Sherri K Provolt was previously under investigation for corruption in office and now has formally been charged by the tribe with fraud, perjury and corruption in office. These charges stem from the tribe hiring a private third party investigator to look into her actions regarding the selling of fee property in Westhaven to the Yurok Indian Housing Authority without disclosing that she was an owner of the property. Previous records show that the purchase price of the 3 acre parcel was $500,000. Provolt is accused of not disclosing her interest in the property or recusing herself from the actions originally allocating $1.5 million in tribal funds to the housing authority specifically in order to purchase and develop the property she held an interest in. Her preliminary hearing with the Ethics Review Board, a special committee formed to handle ethics related violations of elected tribal officials, has concluded with the finding that there is merit to the complaint and that committee has scheduled a public hearing were evidence by both parties will be presented and a finding will be decided. As of now the official date of hearing has not been released, sometime in June is expected.

The special investigator was brought in by the tribe once a series of events led to the leaking/whistleblowing of information related to the sale of the property and Provolt receiving a considerable amount of money from the sale. 

Provolt’s daughter holds a position within the executive office of the housing authority, but as of today no evidence has come forward as to her possible involvement in the crime. 

Due to coverage I do that no one else locally or regionally covers and this is my own research and work, I will often get tips, information. It is helpful when I get documents or can verify information. 

I keep my tips and sources confidential and in order to protect my sources for this particular post, I am not going into further detail but I have been provided with several names and information to contact, specifics and other evidence. Some which is confidential and unless I get permission to share from all parties involved, I will not and cannot share on the blog.

This post will be updated as I get information and any responses I get. 

David O’Neill was a Commissioner on the housing authority board, he was recently removed by the council for his own conflict, he is the whistleblower that started this whole investigation, his wife is Peggy O’Neill also and is a planning commissioner for Humboldt County. Two councilmen were made aware of accusations of wrongdoing and began asking questions, this began the fact finding, they are Williams and Vanlandingham.

I have explained in the past futile attempts to reach the Yurok Tribe. I am also not going into the challenges of non response or the powers to be in Humboldt, including tribes speaking to local media that have conflicts of interest and tend to do selective coverage.

I have contacted Councilmember Sherri Provolt. My email did go through to her unlike other attempts. I received an "automatic reply" at 8:22 p.m. "am out on medical care and am not able to attend to messages. Thank you, Sherri Provolt.

I forwarded the same message to Councilmember Vanlandingham. Was unable to reach Peggy O'Neill at the email address provided.

A simple google search will show that Yurok Tribe Councilmember Sherri Provolt spoke up about Javier Kinney. She represents the Yurok District.

No charges have been filed by the Humboldt County DA in his DUI arrest. If you read my blog, I have written about Raymond Bacon and Sherri Provolt's son John Provolt. I was given a tip about Vanlandingham from someone else that I did not pursue because that tipster did not provide me with proof I asked. 

Mckinleyville man flagged by NCMEC to get probation for more than 50 images of child pornography?

 

Right before his jury trial was scheduled to start,  child pornography suspect Brandon Sampanes entered a plea on 5/17 at trial assignment. Judge Lawrence Killoran indicated a  probation sentence. As part of the plea, Sampanes has to register for lifetime as a sex offender. Sentencing is on 6/13.

Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm is the prosecutor. Deputy Conflict Counsel Zach Curtis is Sampanes' attorney.

Sampanes is only one of a few child porn and molestation cases recently resolved. Where are all those Shawn Perrot keyboard warriors? They have been absent, as usual. If you care about crime; specifically women and children; speak up when it matters.

"Based on preliminary findings, it appeared a vehicle was traveling north on I Street, collided with the pedestrian in the roadway near 9th Street, continued traveling north, collided with additional vehicle(s) near 7th Street, and then collided into a building."

On Wednesday, May 22 at approximately 1:45 pm, Eureka Police Department (EPD) and Humboldt Bay Fire (HBF) responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on the 900 block of I Street.

Jury was sworn in and opening statements were made on 5/21 in Daniel Dozier's trial for murder. Mia Felder's parents missed the opening statement by Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees but they did hear Ms. Andrea Sullivan's opening statement. An older woman was talking to Dozier at the end of the day yesterday. Usually, he sits alone during court breaks. 

Waiting on documents from Fortuna School District causes another continuance in Gary Landergen's trial

 

Alleged molestor Gary Landergen's jury trial was continued once again. This time because Fortuna School District has not provided documents requested.

In my last post, I reported Landergen is no longer living in Humboldt.

John Provolt arrested for aggravated sexual assault and other sex abuse charges involving a minor

40 year old John Quinton Provolt was arrested yesterday by HCSO on a Ramey warrant for PC 288(a) lewd or lascivious acts with a minor , PC 288(b)(1)lewd act with a minor by force or fear, PC 269(a)(1) aggravated sexual assault of a child if the rape is on a child  under 14 years old and at least seven years younger than the alleged perpetrator and PC 288.5(a) continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14. Provolt just resolved an indecent exposure case. He is Yurok Tribe Councilmember Sherri Provolt's son. Bail is $400,000. Provolt posted bond.

This is the main reason I did not add documents mentioning Provolt's children in the recent post I did about Provolt's family law case. 

Former employee of Weott Community Services District no show for court, phone number disconnected

 

Today, former employee of Weott Community Services District Julie Santibanez's embezzlement and identity theft case was on for confirmation of counsel. Her former attorney was Michael Acosta who is ineligible to practice law. Public Defender's office was appointed on 5/16.

Mr. Kamada became suddenly ill and had to go home."

 

Frederick Breckenridge is charged with PC 422 criminal threats, PC 76 (a) threatening a public official and PC 653 (m) (a) annoying phone calls. Alleged victim is First District Supervisor Rex Bohn.

Hung jury, now plea, Nick Martinez looked like he was going to burst into tears this morning while answering judge's questions

 

Nick Martinez looked like he was going to burst into tears while answering Judge Lawrence Killoran's questions this morning. His trial confirmation was continued from yesterday by Ms. Andrea Sullivan for a resolution.

Instead of a retrial on two counts, Martinez pleaded guilty to Count 4 possession of child porn and additional Count 5 sexual battery as a misdemeanor.  In the first trial, Martinez was found not guilty on Count 2; convicted on Count 3. Count 1 was dismissed. Martinez has to register as a sex offender. He is eligible for probation. The assault and battery case that was trailing was dismissed.

Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm's request for change to no bail status was granted. Arbuckle waiver and time for sentencing was waived. Sentencing is on 7/12. 

I told you Kreis was resigning, making a deal with the CJP and practicing law, all confirmed by his own court filing

 

Humboldt Superior Court, Governor Newsom's Judicial appointment staff, the Commission on Judicial Proceedings have all been contacted previously and I have mentioned that in previous coverage. They can release whatever they want in their own time. 

Kreis has misrepresented before and made claims. So, I will wait for the CJP to confirm. The lawyer Kreis hired is the same lawyer who represented former Shasta Superior Court Judge Tony Mallery who was removed  from the bench. Why there are no notices of special masters and hearing dates set and Kreis has previously made claims about having no income as of 5/27/24 in his divorce case that contradict wanting to practice law and a client who claims Kreis is his lawyer? He claimed he wasn't served about the CJP proceedings until a certain date and the POS proved that was incorrect.

After this post was published, I received this comment from someone in the legal community with knowledge about CJP.

"I am still skeptical as we know Kreis is a liar. Nothing on their site indicating appointments of special masters or a scheduled hearing date. If you look at the Mallery case they actually publish notices on who they are and what the dates are. I suspect his lawyer is trying to do that but whether the CJP agrees is another story. The bar is still free and clear to go after him but it is a better stronger case if the Comm'n makes a decision. They have many times gone after Judges who are no longer Judges. His voluntary resignation is probably designed to convince them to drop their case but that is their decision. "

I told you ousted Gregory Kreis was resigning weeks ago, mentioned a deal was possibly in place with the CJP that he was going to practice law and just days ago, I mentioned he had a client. I had heard he had applied to have his law license reinstated. 

Guess the proposed move is off since Kreis and fiancee Tanya Ellis are remodeling the house they live in together. They plan to get married on  June 10 and honeymoon in Cancun. Their marriage means Kreis can mooch off the taxpayers for medical insurance and other benefits a Humboldt Superior Court employee gets. Humboldt Superior Court CEO Meara Hattan also sold Ellis and Kreis their houses according to sources in the know.

Despite Kreis' spin in the declaration, with national coverage on his many scandals finding employment elsewhere may have been challenging. I really don't care. He has caused many hardship, losing their livelihood, homes, children and at $260,000 plus a year, maybe he should have budgeted than carousing all over Europe with Ellis and other vacations. She still has her $100,000 job with the local court. Did he let men in his court make excuses for not paying child and spousal support?

This is a small county where everyone knows each other.  Instead of trying to figure out who my sources are or spreading gossip, current and former court employees, staff and anyone else should look at their conflicts of interests, stop and realize that in a small County, people pay attention what goes on in and outside the Courthouse. I don't sit behind a desk, I put in work, research and while I receive tips like any media source, assuming where I get information is the work of idle minds and bodies. I don't sit behind a desk "reporting" on emails and cut and paste and press releases.

What are "viscous" dogs? I realize that is a typo in the court minutes by one clerk. Civil court minutes by this clerk are consistently not up for days so she had time to proofread. It isn't as if Belinda is posting these minutes live while multitasking 10 other tasks or has an impossible press deadline. Even national media makes typos.

Accurate spelling matters because of the significance placed on court records and not questioning what is written in them. The court clerk had a document where animal control had the word and spelled correctly.

Other Humboldt court clerks do their court minutes after full days in court by the end of the day. They manage to spell more complicated words correctly even when they are lengthy.

Margaret Smith sued HCSO after animal control determined her dogs "Visery" and "Buddy" are vicious. She wasted everyone's time, court resources and lost. 

On 5/22, while I was checking on court cases, one of the Humboldt Superior Court employees talking to the court clerk I mentioned kept walking by saying,"oh you viscous animal" and using "vicious." I just kept checking court records. Maybe if these two actually worked instead of acting worse than toddlers and yapping in the hallway, people would get their court minutes on time. Instead of waiting multiple days on "viscous" Belinda and her juvenile friend.

There are a lot of hardworking court staff but many experienced employees with a work ethic have left. In private industry, people are not paid the same. These two jokers is what you get when the work environment is not worth for decent candidates and you get bottom of the  barrel. The same slackers who take full advantage of union protections or local connections to keep their jobs. In private industry they would have been fired years ago.

Rex just got reelected but whether he will run again is already the question being asked by several people and from different groups. 

I heard back from Thomas on 5/22, "Hello John, The health, strength, and resiliency of our community is extremely important to our family. I have been exploring the idea of running to support positive regenerative improvements of our governments functionality at the county level. I have been making a point now to learn as much as I can before running in a couple years. I would only consider running as a successor to the position. There is still much more to learn. :) Thomas"

What mother sends texts like this to her children, although John Provolt isn't a better candidate for custody

 

John Provolt made one smart decision. Hiring Ms. Andrea Sullivan. In addition to the plea deal in his criminal case, a filing and exhibits in his family law case on May 14, 2024 highlight the trauma his children are experiencing. 

I am not defending John Provolt. His mother is Yurok Tribe Councilmember Sherri Provolt. John Provolt isn't exactly a better candidate for custody.

I just feel sorry for the children. Chelsey Readon-Dowd text messages to her children are disturbing.
