LOCO ignored this HCSO lawsuit locally but suddenly it is news a month and a half later because it is filed in federal court?

I reported on the claim in September 2024. I also checked if Dickinson arrest records. Just because Benjamin Mainzer filed a lawsuit last Friday, the basic facts do not change. Lost Coast Outpost reporting months later and just regurgitating content from the filing with no original work.

If they are able to obtain footage, will they release it all of it to the public to see?

I am all for holding the County or HCSO powers  accountable but LOCO picked one case where the man flinging allegations is being called out O some of their commenters and their description of him helps HCSO. LOCO certainly has the money, time and resources yet they pursue one lawsuit in a blue moon where they don't have to put in any work except file PRAs and have PIOS and lawyers do the work.

Going after Rob Arkey and HCSO front line deputies is LOCO's go to when they need to posture and  pretend play like they are media uncovering some big secret. When they actually do investigative reporting and go after the good ole boys where it makes a difference in the decades of power structure in Humboldt, let me know. There are better lawsuits if LOCO wanted to investigate excessive force or police brutality. That would require actual journalism and developing original leads. LOCO should stick to the mindless fluff they that they usually regurtiate on their site which their 3 or 4 groupies can digest.

Blue Lake Rancheria "is minority owner of the Outpost's parent company, Lost Coast Communications, Inc." according to the disclosures they post on their site. Not only did p post the press release before LOCO. It isn't even on LOCO as of 8:11 p.m. today.

"All statements printed in a recent YES ON MEASURE F direct mail piece and press release were from recorded testimony given at public Eureka City Council hearings over the past few years. "

After I followed up with spokesperson Ms. Gail Rymer for the second time yesterday about a response from the Yes on F campaign regarding the November 2 post I did about Humboldt Bay Coffee owner Luci Ramirez's online post and remarks emailed to me as well as the November 3 post after Eureka Mayor Kim Bergel contacted me, Ms. Rymer sent me a statement today at 2:49 p.m. I appreciate her sending me this response before election day.

Joseph Larue has a total of $135,000 bail for recent Humboldt charges, no bail hold on fugitive justice warrant from Oregon and 50 charges on the Oregon warrant

(HCSO released this photo on October 16)

Convicted felon and domestic violence suspect Joseph Larue was arrested by HCSO yesterday afternoon by HCSO's Hal Esget on fresh charges and  his Ramey warrant and booked for two counts of PC 30305(a) felon in possession of ammunition, PC29800(a), PC 1551(a), PC 422 criminal threats, PC29800(a)(1), PC 273 a(a) child endangerment, PC273.5(a), two counts of PC 496d(a), HS11370.1(a), HS11377(a) and PC 148 (a) (1) resisting arrest.

I just checked on his bail amounts. For new charges in Humboldt his bail is $35,000, for the Ramey warrant charges, it is $100,000. He has a fugitive justice warrant from Oregon with a no bail hold and 50 charges on that warrant.

I looked up Larue's court cases and Katina Baker's court cases. LaRue has 22 court cases when I checked e court yesterday.

After the fiasco with Luci Ramirez, you would think Yes on F learned their lesson, instead Roy Gomez does the same thing today with Eureka Mayor Kim Bergel

I just got off the phone with Eureka Mayor Kim Bergel.  Roy Gomez learned nothing from yesterday's fiasco and tagged Mayor Bergel on her personal Facebook page and continued to argue with her instead of admitting what he has done.

"At the time, in 2022, the comments in the video are absolutely correct," Mayor Bergel told me. "But two years later, we need more housing and my comments are taken out of context. I do not endorse or support Measure F."

Not content with the Luci Ramirez fiasco, Roy Gomez is now mistepresenting and using a comment from two years ago and insinuating that Mayor Bergel supports Measure F.

I dont have time right and I am not going link  all the posts I have done on Roy Gomez. If you read any of those posts  or just the one on his loss in the Brian Trout case and Commissioner Sarah Kaber's ruling in that case which resulted in a restraining order against Roy Gomez and he was ordered to pay Trout's attorney's fees. Read my post and a claim by his former attorney Ms. Cyndy Day-Wilson or my post on his Eureka business closing, or the post I did on his partner Jessica Gomez's Security National email address. Most of you read my posts yesterday about Humboldt Bay Coffee owner Luci Ramirez denying she supports Measure F or endorses it and her name and remarks being misused. I don't have the time to waste and keep up with Roy Gomez multiple lawsuits, including one still open in Humboldt Superior Court about his Arcata business.  Roy Gomez also failed in his candidacy for Third District Supervisor.

Yes on F co chair Michelle Costantine and Measure F supporter Anthony Mantova failed to be elected to Eureka City Council.  Are these people who even with the "right local connections" voters couldn't run a winning campaign, the ones voters are supposed to trust  about the future "prosperity" of Eureka ? Many current voters don't care or dont know relics of the past like former Eureka mayors Frank Jager and Nancy Flemming and former Eureka Councilmember Marian Brady.

Yes on F has yet to respond about why they misled the public and used Ramirez's remarks out of context. While writing this post, I briefly heard back from Yes on F spokesperson Gail Rymer and there is no official response "right now."

Roy Gomez can spout whatever he wants on Facebook. He,  Cornelius Loewenstein and James Harrison Graham seem to be obsessed with Mayor Bergel instead of focusing on their own lives and taking responsibility for failures.

I am more interested in a response from the Yes on F campaign and Security National who has poured more than a million to promote Measure F and the explaination why Luci Ramirez and Mayor Bergel's remarks have been taken out of context and misused by people who clearly the Yes on F campaign cannot control or do not care to reign in because they want to own the libs and pissed they do not control the City of Eureka.

Maybe the crowd behind Make  Eureka Parking Lots Great Again should pick people who are politically savvy and know how to communicate effectively  instead of the poor choices who represent their current cause and are the same tired voices who achieve nothing but animosity.

Jessica Gomez has not responded on her connection with Security National. It was August when I reported that she emails the City of Eureka with a Security National address and I was the only one to do so despite certain local media being so chummy with Eureka Manager Miles Slattery. Yes on F should state if Roy Gomez speaks for the Yes on F campaign or is affiliated with them in any way.

A kindergartner could run a better campaign than Yes on F and there are better local lawyers than out of county Bradley Johnson who has, so far, lost for Eureka Housing for All, Citizens for a Better Eureka and Roy Gomez. Even a professional like Gail Rymer cannot put "lipstick on the local pigs" who have squandered Security National's money. If I were Rob Arkley, I would be pissed right now. I wrote weeks back, if Yes on F fails, will Rob hold those locally accountable ? I was told Costantine is friends with Patty Sue, wife of Security National's Tim Callison.

Michelle, if you want to cozy up with Ingomar crowd, be the face of an Arkley and Security National funded campaign and hang out with your "big boy buddies" like Humboldt First District Supervisor Rex Bohn and his ilk; you need to deliver results. Not egg on their face two days before an election. Outside your bubble of the local political and economic cabal and with the exception of your biased hubby Shane Blackwell, several long term residents and new people who have moved to Eureka don't care and don't know who you are and what you and most of the people on these glossy mailers think. Inundation of Yes on F mailers, social media and radio ads are turning people off and poll responses can be misleading.

Privileged folks who have no clue about housing challenges and think parking is an issue for the numerous cars each member of their household own which hog up parking spaces and sidewalks in addition to their driveway need to get off their chariots and walk a couple of blocks. What makes you Make Eureka Great Again NIMBYs think you speak for the majority of Eureka?

Roy Gomez, Michelle Costantine and Patty Sue are constantly kvetching about Eureka City Council on Facebook. If they are so concerned about housing, maybe they could expedite an answer from Security National about the housing project near the Indianola cutoff. I am still waiting months later for a response for the post I did on that SN housing project. I did the original post in 2022.

If I had a million dollars to invest in politics, I would not waste it like Security National has on Measure F and I would hire effective adults who can run a winning campaign for the power I seek.

There were people who felt strongly about Measure N. That Measure also supported by Security National passed in 2010 and was a win because the team of volunteers were mature, they were people trusted in the community and could deliver an effective message without insulting people. To my knowledge, other than anyone from Security National, no one from that team of volunteers on Measure N is associated with the boondoggle that is Measure F.

Screenshots posted below of some of the exchange from Roy Gomez' personal Facebook page with Patty Sue and Costantine arguing against Mayor Bergel. Three to one and Mayor Bergel was the only adult in the conversation.

Convicted rapist Patrick Marshall keeps getting arrested by multiple law enforcement agencies and yesterday it was by APD on 4 violations for possession of meth

(2023 booking photo from previous arrest)

(2022 booking photo)

(2019)

**Due to the Ninth Circuit ruling, it is a waste of time to request the 2024 booking photo. Besides longer hair and looking older, he looks the same.Due to my diligence previously with booking photos, I have 2019, 2022 and 2023 photos of convicted rapist Patrick Michael Marshall all issued before this distastrous ruling by the 9th Circuit which is a detriment to public safety and Marshall is only one example of the repeat offenders you read about on the blog**

I have covered rapist Patrick Michael Marshall since 2019. My last post on him was in March 2023 when Fortuna Police Department arrested him on a bench warrant for parole violation in the 2019 case. I reported on the outcome of that arrest. On 4/20/23, Count 7 dismissed. DEJ successfully completed. VOP revocation hearing on 4/25 vacated.  In his 2019 alleged molestation case, Marshall resolved that case with a plea for statutory rape.

Marshall was arrested by Arcata Police Department yesterday morning and booked on four misdemeanor violations of HS 11377 (a) possession of meth. One is for a new arrest, one is for a bench warrant for a 2024 case and two are from a 2023 case. Marshall was released on OR.

If the DA files charges for this arrest, unless he can afford a private attorney, Marshall will most likely be represented by the Public Defender's office who represented him previously in the 2019 case.

Local GOP waiting for group of cars of Trump supporters that left Fortuna, passed CR but has not passed by 5th street Eureka Republican headquarters

(Local GOP members)

A group of cars and trucks with Trump supporters left Fortuna, passed by CR a few minutes ago according to local GOP members,  other Trump supporters and local conservatives standing outside the local GOP headquarters on 5th street in Eureka.

As I kept walking on 5th street, this one truck with Trump flags drove by at 1:04 p.m.

Online post says Humboldt Bay Coffee owner Luci Ramirez does not endorse or wish name to be associated with Yes on F

I received a tip via email at 10:02 a.m. this morning titled "Oops by Yes on F".

The screenshot with the flyer and response sent to me by the tipster has a time stamp of 5:54 p.m. The original post was on the Humboldt Bay Coffee Facebook page yesterday afternoon around 2:30 p.m.

In the press release from Yes on F which I posted on October 30 and that was before any other local media, Ramirez remarks from a special session of Eureka City Council meeting were included.

https://johnchiv.blogspot.com/2024/10/a-yes-vote-on-measure-f-would-prevent.html?m=1

I reached out to  Yes on F spokesperson Gail Rymer to see if she or the Yes on F campaign wish to comment.

I also reached out to Ramirez. She responded, "Thank you for saying something on my behalf.

I am so Furious.

I was never contacted or asked about my stance. That flyer went out representing my support but I NEVER EVER gave consent for my name to be used for their political campaign.

The flyer gives impression that I am supporting this measure.

Thank you for caring enough to say something, it feels like a violation."

Defense for suspended attorney Victor Campos has filed a motion for DA to produce evidence or dismiss case against him

(Campos)

(Cross)

**These are older booking photos for Campos and Cross and were released before the Ninth Circuit ruling**

Suspended attorney Victor Campos is ineligible to practice law. On October 7, the drug case for him and his co-defendant Kyle Cross was continued by defense. Readiness Conference is scheduled for 1/8/25; jury trial on 1/21/25. Just Campos' name was on the court calendar recently. On October 8, a motion to produce evidence or dismiss was filed by defense in Campos' case. There was a hearing on 10/22 before Judge Steven Steward.  At counsel's request, another hearing was specially set before Retired Judge Christopher Wilson on 10/29.

Deputy District Attorney Ian Harris is the prosecutor for this case. Campos was represented by Deputy Public Defender David Nims who recently transfered to Conflict Counsel. Deputy Public Defender Ryan McClurg appeared for Campos at the 10/22 court hearing. Cross' attorney is Deputy Conflict Counsel Zack Curtis.

Wesley Lee Starritt sentenced to serve four life sentences in prison for murder and attempted murder

(2021 booking photo)

I covered Wesley Starritt regularly for years. It took too long for justice for the victims, their famies and friends with criminal proceedings being suspended to the current conclusion. In December 2021, I wrote, "He is one of the few examples, especially in Humboldt Superior Court, where the incompetent defense is used, the defendant goes to Napa State, comes back and competency is restored, gets a plea and then out of custody to destroy more lives and the process starts again."

I cover a lot of court cases daily, in detail, with court minutes and follow cases from arraignment to conclusion. The other local media with more resources covers one court case and a random hearing once in a blue moon and does a few paragraphs. I decided to post other original and more recent content today and wait and post the DA's press release on Starrit's sentencing which was issued a few minutes ago.

Thank you Judge Steward for ordering Analia Martinez to be placed on an ankle monitor and for listening to the evidence and history provided by the DA and alleged victims who have previously been ignored

Analia Martinez currently has three open cases in Humboldt Superior Court. Most of my readers are familiar with the charges, have followed my coverage and I just did a post on October 12.

Human trafficking suspects "Chicago John" and "KGB" in settlement discussions with DA

(Machado)

(Uonan)
**These are older booking photos, released earlier this year before Ninth Circuit ruling**

Human trafficking and money laundering suspects Uonan Uonan aka "Chicago John" and Nicholas Machado aka "KGB" preliminary hearing being continued several times and once again on 10/29 did not surprise me and the minor update would usually be added to the previous post as I do in other cases. However, the latest continuance was by stipulation because settlement discussions are ongoing for both defendants. Setting of preliminary is scheduled for 12/12.

Sexual battery suspect and Foot Logic owner's preliminary hearing delayed for the second time due to new discovery

(booking photo is from Dong's  August 2024 arrest and was released before the Ninth Circuit ruling)

Foot Logic owner Jianzhao Dong is charged with four felonies. Count 1 & Count 2 PC 289 (a) 1 (a) forcible sexual penetration with a foreign object. Count 3 & Count 4 PC 243.4 (c) sexual battery by fraudulent representation.
