Rex Bohn is suing Glenn Chabot successors in property lawsuit

 

On July 1, First District Supervisor Rex Bohn filed a civil lawsuit against the The Testate Intestate of Glenn Chabot et al. Other defendants are listed in the screenshot which is from the Humboldt Superior Court case management system.

Bohn has hired Mr. Ryan Plotz. I knew Mr. Plotz when he worked at the City of Eureka and appeared on cases for the City. He currently is at the Mitchell Law Firm, who represents the County of Humboldt in several lawsuits.

I identified Rex Bohn as a County Supervisor but this seems to be an lawsuit filed by him as an individual.

There is a case management conference on 1/8/27. 

Testate means dying with a legally valid last will and testament. Intestate means dying without leaving a legally valid last will and testament. Lis pendens is a public notice recorded with the county recorder to show that a lawsuit is pending which affects the title or possession of a specific piece of real property. California Code of Civil Procedure § 762.030 outlines the procedural requirements for naming a deceased person as a defendant in a quiet title action.

Glenn Chabot passed away on October 12, 2017. The defendants are all listed in the obituary.

These are the documents filed. The online court record system does not display documents so I will have to check and add those details next week. Other than why Rex is suing this family and what property, the rest of the legalese is boring except to civil attorneys.

After a three day holiday weekend, Tuesday is a busy day at Humboldt courts, I have several cases to cover and access to the public computers will be in demand so I cannot say when I will add those details, it could be Tuesday morning or on Tuesday. Jason Renek is now charged with 12 felonies involving multiple victims and involving Humboldt and Shasta County

 

Alleged molestor was originally charged with four felonies. Then, the Humboldt County DA has charged Renek with 12 felonies. Some charges have special allegations, the alleged crimes involve two Jane Does and minors. Renek's charges now human trafficking of a minor, forcible oral copulation, forcible rape of a child victim, kidnapping, exhibiting a minor in pornography, possession of child pornography, administering drugs during the commission of certain crimes and lewd act on a child. One of the alleged crimes occurred in Shasta County who has given Humboldt County jurisdiction.

The complaint for jury trial was filed by DA Stacey Eads but Senior Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm is the prosecutor for the case. Ms. Andrea Sullivan is Renek's third attorney. After Deputy Conflict Counsel declared conflict;  Ms. Rebecca Linkous was apppointed; she withdrew as counsel before preliminary hearing and then Ms. Sullivan was appointed.

9/3/26: Renek was arraigned on information. Trial setting is on 10/14/26.

Former attorney Jason Eads ineligible to practice law, no longer listed on Eric Kirk firm website, is DA Stacey Eads ex and was recently arrested for being drunk in public

 

Former attorney Jason James Eads was arrested for PC 647 (f) public intoxication on 8/31/26 by Arcata Police Department. He was released per 849 (b) (2) which basically means the jail let him sober up in what is known as the "drunk tank" and he was released.

The formal definition is  that this penal code "allows law enforcement officers to release a person from custody without taking them before a judge if they were arrested for alcohol intoxication only and no further criminal prosecution is needed."

Of course, you did not read about this arrest in other local media who claim to cover court and certainly not on the site where Stokes, Hamer, Eads and Hamer advertises  who repost the jail reports and started doing a court column which is days and weeks late on Humboldt court cases I report live and regularly. You also did not see any coverage of former CalTrans employee David Orluck on any other local media or this site.

I covered the DUI of one my advertisers and I have reported on attorneys being arrested for DUIs. My ads are in a fixed position and show regardless of what post you read unlike other sites.

I received this message today.

"FYI.  Jason eads attorney ex of Stacy was suspended from practicing in law as of July 1.  He is no longer associated with the Stokes firm and they took him off the website.  He was arrested last week for drunk in public. "

Jason Eads is ineligible to practice law. On the website, his name still appears where the firm is listed but where the partners and attorneys are listed, his name and picture have been removed.

I did see the arrest but I don't do posts on just one drunk in public arrest. Being ineligible to practice law and no longer being at your law firm is news.

Some people in Humboldt do business as usual, despite multiple lawsuits, DUIs

 

Darus Trutna has been involved with Real Property Managment formerly known as PPM, after the lawsuits I covered, morphed into Rentor. 

I checked the Rentor site on a hunch. Saw Trutna is no longer listed as a part of Rentor. No big deal. Sheila Bearden left, now Trutna. 

So I checked to see if Trutna had another position. Nothing in Google. His Facebook page, Linkedin profile and other searches list old information and most still associated with Rentor.

In that search for Trutna, I found this license information. Broker license revoked and restricted to salesperson in 2021, then license revoked in 2025 so how and why was Trutna doing business and until when?

This is Hammacher's and the Corporation's information.

The license type and what is restricted and when is not the issue. Suddenly people in charge leaving after lawsuits and multiple disciplinary actions is relevant.

It is bad enough that despite lawsuits which settled, this company which was co-owned by Trutna and Henry Hammacher is allowed to do business in Humboldt County because of the selective good ole boy and gal mentality where laws and rules do not apply to certain people.

In Humboldt, some people can get sued multiple times, others like Eureka Natural Foods owner Rick Littlefield can have five DUIs and go around conducting business as usual. When I say some people, I don't just mean Rentor or Littlefield. 

Some people in Humboldt do business as usual, despite multiple lawsuits, DUIs. People have heard of two tier justice. In Humboldt, it is three tier. One set of rules for the good ole boys; another if you know and are protected by the good ole boys and the rest of Humboldt.

The Humboldt good ole boys and gals are a joke. For decades, no one paid attention to this rural, isolated area. In the last few years, Humboldt is making national news and each headline is more of an embarassment. 

Sexually violent predator Richard Stobaugh trying again to be released from State Hospital, lost 3 appeals and fourth is pending

 

I check regularly on cases I cover. I could have waited until after the hearing on Tuesday morning instead of providing yet another tip for other local media who benefit from my diligence and regular presence at the Humboldt Superior Courthouse and may now show up to cover this hearing. I chose to do this post today in case community members want to attend the hearing in person. 

People need to stop expecting me or the DA or law enforcement who are already overwhelmed with no time off working non stop on weekdays and weekends working to keep the public safe and informed. Time we should be spending relaxing and doing basic neccesities in life such as grocery shopping, laundry, medical appointments that you take for granted. For me, it is also a lot of time spent when I could make money. I don't get a steady paycheck. I work and with the exception of a few, most in Humboldt is fine with me subsidizing my reporting. I have made many sacrifices for 22 years so I don't want to hear from anyone in Humboldt why they cannot even make a one time contribution. My readers in the rest of California and nation show their appreciation in more than words.

For a judge to see the community in person makes a difference. Sitting on Facebook or online commenting and clutching your pearls is lazy and does not change outcomes.

The hearing on 9/8/26 is in front of Humboldt Superior Court Presiding Judge Timothy Canning.

California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 6604.9 requires a yearly mental health examination for any person committed as a sexually violent predator SVP in California.

The Public Defender is asking for conditional release, again. WIC 6608A: A person who has been committed as a sexually violent predator shall be permitted to petition the court for conditional release with or without the recommendation or concurrence of the Director of State Hospitals. 

Stobaugh has lost three appeals. His fourth is pending.

Another day in Eureka, another overdose

 

Five minutes ago, walked up to see EPD and City Ambulance leaving. I had seen City Ambulance driving past me as I was walking. Didn't see anyone detained. Heard it was an overdose. This is at the corner of 6th and West. There is an encampment back there, you can see where the fence is cut. EPD, Humboldt Bay Fire,  City Ambulance respond to multiple such calls a day and that includes at apartments and the jail.

Rape suspect Jesus Chavez granted supervised release with certain conditions

 

Rape suspect Jesus Chavez was arrested by Arcata Police Department on 8/27/26. The Humboldt County DA filed three felony rape charges on 9/1/26. Count 1 is PC 261 (a) (2) forcible rape; Count 2 PC 261 (a) (3) rape of an intoxicated person and PC 261 (a) (4) (a) rape of an unconscious person. Alleged victim is Jane Doe.

He was arraigned the same day. Humboldt Superior Court Judge Steven Steward set bail at $75,000 and the Public Defender was appointed.

On 9/3,  supervised release was granted by Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge Marilyn Miles. A criminal protective order was filed and served in court. Preliminary hearing is on 9/9/26.  Conditions of supervised release include that Chavez cannot leave the state without permission from the court and Probation; he has to report once a week to his supervising officer, electronic blood alcohol monitoring and a stay away from Jane Doe.

This isn't about the GOP or Nick Shirley. Going after the First Amendment impacts the reporting I do which already faces challenges.

"America First Legal (AFL), in partnership with John W. Howard of JW Howard Attorneys, filed a federal lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against California Attorney General Rob Bonta and California Secretary of State Shirley Weber on behalf of investigative journalist Nick Shirley. The lawsuit challenges California Assembly Bill 2624, commonly known as the “Stop Nick Shirley Act” and recently signed into law, alleging it unlawfully targets journalists and citizens who investigate immigration-related organizations, in violation of the First Amendment, the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, and Article I, Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution."

Former Humboldt County Juvenile Probation Officer Keith Wallace and convicted child pornographer sued by John Doe for sexual assault and battery

 

A lawsuit was filed on 3/13/26 by John Doe against former Humboldt County Juvenile Probation Officer Keith Wallace. 

John Doe is represented by Mr. Jeffrey Kyle Gaines from the Beverly Hills law firm, Slater Slater Schulman. Wallace is represented by Ms. Janice M. Bellucci.

There was a Case Management Conference this morning before Humboldt Superior Court Presiding Judge Timothy Canning. At today's hearing, Ms. Viviana Bergerson from Slater Slater Schulman was present for John Doe. She requested a continuance since they are still in the process of getting discovery. There was  no objection by Ms. Bellucci but she said she is filing a motion for summary judgement.  Another CMC is scheduled for 12/11/26.

The complaint does not list Keith Wallace's middle name but lists him as a peace officer employed by the County of Humboldt and has the same information as the ICEpress release below on Wallace's federal conviction.

The allegations are sexual assault and battery "in approximately 2008" when John Doe was 16 years old and committed to the Northern California Regional Facility on Harrison Avenue. Forced oral sex, digital penetration, fondling, groping and masturbation are alleged in the complaint.

What is Inside Edition going to air that we have not already heard from Shannon Miranda, Jennifer Raymond and Jenna Moore?

Yesterday, I did a post on a First Amended Complaint in the Rocket Dog Rescue lawsuit against Shannon Miranda. That is a document filed in court of law and a new development.

By now, it is known by various people that Inside Edition was in Humboldt and interviewed Shannon Miranda, Jennifer Raymond and Jenna Moore.

Since April 2026, the Jerry Springer supporters and three major narcissists have kept this in the news cycle.

All three keep saying the same thing for months. What is Inside Edition going to air that we have not heard before?

Inside Edition city slickers have no clue how Humboldt works. They don't know the Humboldt good ole boys and gals angle or the personal beef between Shannon Miranda, Jennifer Raymond and Jenna Moore and the court cases I covered long before this year.

Do these three think they are the only ones in Humboldt that have had to deal with frustration with HCSO and the Humboldt County DA's office? Unsubstantiated smears and personal drama ends up in Humboldt courtrooms with  time wasted by law enforcement.

Others whose lives, safety and freedom are on hold for months and years and now have to wait longer because three selfish narcissists with good ole boys and gal connections and their minions are taking up time instead of waiting like everyone else for an investigation to be completed and to see if charges are filed.

Both sides have connections and apparently a lot of money to waste. These three are self absorbed. The worst are their rabid supporters with no life but to email, comment online and think everyone should jump to their demands. 

The Jenna Moore and Jennifer Raymond followers have turned on HCSO. There are people who privately have expressed to me that they have changed their minds about Shannon Miranda and have questions.

I have already said this to Shannon privately and I will now in public. He is ungrateful and doesn't appreciate Ms. Allison Jackson. He is ungrateful and does not appreciate that I gave him the time to tell his side from the beginning. I have been harassed, received threats, my livelihood targeted, yet again in Humboldt for going against the good ole boys and gals, the special interests and the clique with no life.

Shannon telling Lost Coast Outpost his lawyer plans to file charges before they are actually filed is dumb. It is a toss between Blake Alexandre and Shannon Miranda who is the dumber one. Both have no clue how to damage control and what to say and who to give interviews to and have undone any work their lawyers are doing. 

I will hold Shannon Miranda to what he said, which is cover this fairly and if he has done anything wrong to report it and I will.

I asked Jenna Moore, Jennifer Raymond and Shannon Miranda for certain evidence which was  not provided. Asked Jenna Moore, Jennifer Raymond and anyone claiming HCSO ignored them for documentation. Asked Shannon Miranda for texts and documentation about his claims against HCSO.

Whether it is Jenna Moore, Jennifer Raymond and Shannon Miranda or any of their supporters, unless you are willing to provide evidence and testify in a court of law under oath and penalty of perjury or file a declaration  under penalty of perjury; I don't give a damn.

Other media, local and national, are too lazy to put in work or investigate what would be evidence and can be vetted in a court of law and they continue the divisive he said, she said clown show that is typical Humboldt. 

To the ignorant who don't get investigation, news or how reporting unfolds; I am not explaining myself to every Tom,Dick, Jane with an online account or keyboard warriors who don't read, listen or have a clue and seem to have no job or life other than this ongoing drama. Nor am I interested in the same spiel from the three people who are more interested in their 15 minutes of fame than the animals.

There are people who made up their mind since day one and they do not believe in due process or waiting to see if charges are filed and what is proved in a court of law. There are others who don't want Shannon questioned at all. Both are wrong.

Unless you are adopting, donating towards spay and neuter or doing something that benefits the dogs and animals; your two cents Humboldt, Seattle or wherever you are from and your drama is of no interest to me.

Those of you who have plenty of time to comment online, especially on Facebook, the same time could be spent doing something beneficial for animals.

Let's see how this PR tour works out for Jenna Moore, Jennifer Raymond and Shannon Miranda. 

When there is national news, it is mostly negative about Humboldt. Something that the self absorbed in this Humboldt drama do not think about nor do their Humboldt connections.

Aisling Marie, the typical Jerry Springer commenter and not even from Humboldt but Seattle on Lost Coast Outpost today.  Shannon did give me more than one exclusive and unlike today, besides the bad bookeeping claim, it was weeks ago. LOCO is late to the table as usual. Put down your phone, computer, get a life and do something to help animals instead of commenting and thinking your childish opinion matters to anyone with power or influence.

Rocket Dog Rescue files FAC, adds Brian Paris, Blake Miranda, Scott Arreguin to the lawsuit

I was the first one to report that Rocket Dog Rescue filed a complaint against Shannon Miranda. Once again, you heard it here first. On August 28, 2026, a First Amended Complaint was filed by Mr. Paul Nathan.

Brian Paris, Blake Miranda, Scott Arreguin and Does 1-100 are included in the first amended complaint.

One of the additional requests under prayer and relief is for a permanent injunction prohibiting Shannon Miranda from maintaining, operating, or opening any animal care or animal training facility in the State of California.

There is no proof of service and the Case Management Conference is still on 1/25/27.

However, I want to emphasize that the first amended complaint seeks a permanent injunction barring Shannon Miranda from operating an animal care or training facility in California. This case is about standing up for the dogs who cannot speak for themselves and holding Shannon Miranda accountable. "

If we had a Eureka City Council majority that was pro law and order, this would not be an every day occurrence

 9:38 a.m. on 4th street saw EPD officers talking to one of the "regulars in this area." Whether it has anything to do with the guy in red working on the locks by the front door of the Area Agency on Aging, I don't have any idea yet.

Also thanks to the same useless Eureka City Council who voted to raise rates on utilities and more taxes, my rent is going up as expected. I am sure I am not the only one impacted. I understand why my landlord has to do it; I blame the current ECC members who voted for these increases.

Hotels, restaurants, businesses are all impacted. Instead of encouraging private industry industry and jobs which are not grant dependent,, all this Council does increase bills. I saw Eureka Ward 5 candidate Kathleen Herrera on Monday. She was walking on 4th street by the Courthouse. In our chat, she ended up sharing how she is for private industry jobs. People who have made up their minds about certain Eureka candidates based on one issue or political affiliation are the reason life in Eureka is a constant struggle.

Anthony Ramirez's alleged molestation, statutory rape and child porn case could result in probation with execution of 16 year 8 month sentence suspended

 

I have been the only one to cover Anthony Ramirez's case from arrest to conclusion. By now, readers who follow and read me regularly know that I add minor updates to previous posts. This post picks up from my last update in the June 22 post.

In my June 22 post, I wrote, "There is some information I know and waiting to see if defense will bring it out at the preliminary hearing."

There maybe no preliminary hearing. 

Today setting of preliminary hearing was continued by the Court to 9/15 for setting of preliminary hearing/change of plea.

Humboldt Superior Court Judge Lawrence Killoran indicated granting Ramirez probation with the execution of 16 year 8 month sentence suspended.

Deputy DA Carolyn Schaffer is the prosecutor. Deputy Public Defender David Celli is Ramirez's attorney.

This fool has an issue with Eureka Police Department. Lol.

"Johnny's" second email provides more clues. If I had a dollar for every bitter, angry, Humboldt creep stalking, threatening me and their opinion, I'd be so rich and could leave Humboldt tomorrow.

Whenever someone doesn't get their way, has no facts, they resort to insults.  The last line sounds like a threat.
