Tavin Evans who I have covered since 2022 booked into Humboldt jail on sex charges involving a minor and giving drugs to a minor

I have covered repeat offender and career criminal Tavin Evans since 2022. Last October, I heard from a reader in San Francisco.

Evans, who like many Humboldt criminals follows my Facebook page went off on me just as he did in court and had to be admonished by Retired Judge Christopher Wilson.

He was booked into Humboldt County yesterday on a Ramey warrant for PC 288 (c) (1) lewd acts on a child. PC 287 (b) (2) oral copulation with a minor, PC 261.5 (d) statutory rape and HS 11353(c) selling drugs to a minor. Bail is $200,000.

He was last represented by Ms. Rebecca Linkous. Tavin is a loser. He needs to go directly to prison. He has been given chances for treatment. He knows the system and drags out cases for years. Humboldt judges need to reign in this loser and stop him from abusing the court's time and resources. He had 43 cases in the system in 2023.

In this post are screenshots of every post I have done on Evans and two previous booking photos. Regular readers are familiar with my coverage. I am not going to keep providing links again to prior coverage. Evans will rack up enough hearings with this 2026 arrest.

The Humboldt Superior Court shows 55 searcj results, however there are several duplicates for the same case. This has been a problem for years and Humboldt Superior Court has been made aware by me several times and it is not fixed. Evans has wasted enough of my time as have all the Humboldt criminals and I am not going through 55 cases.

It looks like he has one case filed on 2/25/26 with a Ramey warrant for these charges with future arraignment date of 5/26 and a 2023  open case with the same date in which he was granted diversion. Arraignment in the alleged molestation case advanced to 3/10/26.

The incidents with Jane Doe allegedly happened near Eureka High School and Hammond Park. The drug allegedly given to the minor was meth.

3/10/26: Evans walked into courtroom 5 today, slumped in his seat and sulked. Despite numerous attempts by the court clerk to reach his attorney, Ms. Linkous, there was no response. Judge Lawrence Killoran continued arraignment to 3/11/26. I have already included the complaint.

3/11/25: Arraignment continued to 3/12 at Ms. Linkous' request.

3/12/26: Bail is $200,000. At Ms. Linkous' request, an OR bail hearing is scheduled for 3/16; preliminary hearing on 3/25. Evans had behaved for two days but with Ms. Linkous who enables and makes excuses for his destructive behavior, on his way out of the courtroom, in front of retired HCSO Deputy Greg Bickel, he mouthed a threat to me. I don't know if HCSO Deputy Leslie Borges saw it but people seated behind me did.

3/16/26: Defense submits letter from Evan's family to court. OR and supervised denied by Judge Killoran; custody status changed to no bail.

3/25/26: Evans was told twice not to talk by court bailiff and HCSO Deputy Max Soeth. Ms. Linkous had a conflict and had to withdraw. Ms. Joanne Carter was appointed. Evans entered a 10 day time waiver. Preliminary hearing on 4/23/26.
