Max Allen Wolfe was arrested by Fortuna Police Department yesterday for PC 470 (a) forgery and PC 476 check fraud.
The name looked familiar and when I searched my blog, I found a November 2024 post about Fortuna resident Max Wolfe who was injured in a hit and run being investigated by CHP.
Max Allen Wolfe has two traffic cases and four criminal cases in Humboldt Superior Court. He has a failure to appear in one 2024 case which is for petty theft. He has convictions in both traffic cases and convictions in the other criminal cases for two probation violations, firearm charges with some firearm and drug charges dismissed in one of the cases as a part of the plea.
On 3/27, Wolfe was arraigned on his 2024 petty theft case in which he had a failure to appear and the 2026 case which was filed on 3/27. Trial confirmation is scheduled for 4/15 in the 2026 case; jury trial on 4/20.
The 2026 complaint filed by the Humboldt County DA lists this is a merged EPD case. In addition to the forgery and check fraud charges, Wolfe is also charged with possessing fentanyl, vandalism of three U.S. Post Office mail cabinets and receiving stolen property; a mountain bike.
4/15/26: Defense continuance granted because deputy public defender has not met with client. Wolfe ordered by Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge Christopher Wilson to meet with the attorney assigned to his case by 4 p.m. today. Trial confirmation is on 6/8; jury trial on 6/15.
