Application for supplemental funding for a gang expert filed by William Warren's attorney rejected on a technicality

Tomorrow, setting of preliminary hearing is scheduled in homicide suspect Tselin Lincoln and William Warren's case. Ms. Andrea Sullivan is Lincoln's attorney.

There is also a motion to compel scheduled which was previously filed by Warren's attorney, Ms. Rebecca Linkous.

Ms. Linkous filed an ex-parte application for supplemental funding for a gang expert. It was rejected by Humboldt Superior Court Judge Kaleb Cockrum because referenced exhibits weren't attached. I am sure that is his signature.

Ms. Linkous, like everyone and anyone at or associated with Humboldt Superior Court is busy, overworked and exhausted. We will find out tomorrow of she will resubmit the application.

Senior Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees is the prosecutor for both cases.

As readers know, there have been several continuances and twists and tomorrow, will Humboldt Superior Court Judge Steven Steward set a preliminary hearing date?

Judge Steward has continued several 8:30 hearings to 1:30 because it has been so busy.

Tomorrow's hearing update will be added to this post.

6/26: Another continuance to July 8. Those who are directly affected by this case were in the courtroom. Mr. Rees said he probided some discovery to Ms. Sullivan last night. Ms. Sullivan confirmed she picked up numerous electronic items. "There are numerous gang enhancements," said Ms. Sullivan. She asked Mr. Rees to address how the DA intends to prove the gang charges. "I don't want to be in the middle of the preliminary hearing and receive information from an officer about gang."

Ms. Linkous agreed and said, "In my motion, I have a specific request for any gang discovery."

All attorneys agreed to a continuance to July 8.

Every continuance, the same issues are being addressed; the July 8 update will be added to this post.
