Johnnie David Acosta's 2025 arrest for domestic violence, witness intimidation, false imprisonment, assault and kidnapping is more serious than previous arrests or convictions

Johnnie David Acosta was arrested yesterday by HCSO for PC 273.5(a) corporal injury to spouse or cohabitant, PC 136.1(b)(1) dissuading or intimidating a witness or victim, PC 236 false imprisonment, PC 207(a) kidnapping and PC 245(a)(4) assault likely to produce great bodily injury.

He has several cases with at least two convictions, one conviction set aside and a dismissal in his most recent case which was in 2024.





4/10: I was in court for arraignment. The DA has charged Acosta with two counts of PC 273. 5 (a) domestic violence. One alleged incident took place on March 30, 2025; the other on March 31, 2025. Public Defender's office appointed. Retired Judge Marilyn Miles set bail at $100,000.

Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer appeared on the case for the People. Acosta was served with a protective order. OR bail on April 14; preliminary hearing on April 22.

"How could she?" was Acosta's first outburst before Judge Miles cautioned him not to say anything. He started up again and Judge Miles stopped him, You are not helping yourself. Don't say anything."

OR bail on 4/14; preliminary hearing on 4/22.

4/14/25: Supervised release granted by Judge Lawrence Killoran.

4/22/25: Held to answer by Judge Timothy Canning after preliminary hearing. Defense 17 (b) motion denied. Arraignment on information is on 5/6/25. Deputy District Attorney Trent Timm was the prosecutor for the preliminary hearing. Deputy Public Defender Adrian Kamada is Acosta's attorney.
