Highway to Housing workshop at the new UPLIFT Resource Center allows participants to get a certificate and gives tools for a successful housing application

 

The City of Eureka's UPLIFT Resource Center is offering a workshop, Highway to Housing. The first session is on 2/19 at 10:30 a.m. and will continue each Wednesday for eight weeks.  

At the end of the eight week workshop, participants will receive a certificate to put with their applications for housing.  

Throughout the workshop we will have guest speakers such as a representative from the Housing Authority to explain the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) process, and property managers to explain what they are looking for on an application.  

There is no sign up required.

The objective of the workshop is to help participants know how to navigate the housing application process, understand low-income housing and housing authority process as well as prepare a budget.
