Did a post on September 13 with this brief response from former auditor-controller Karen Paz Dominguez about this FPPC agenda item. "The FPPC and I are in active negotiations. To maintain the good-faith tone of those negotiations, I am not making public comments at this time."
I followed up with FPPC today. Mr. Jay Wierenga, FPPC's Communications Director, sent me the following response : "That case remains an open case until it reaches its final adjudication. Per regulation, I/we can’t comment on any open case. If and when any case reaches a proposed settlement that becomes pending before the Commission (that is, the proposed settlement has been agreed to by the Enforcement Division and the respondent and any penalties that may be involved have been put into escrow for dispersal to the State General Fund), it is then added to the monthly meeting agenda for adjudication and details of the case and proposed settlement are made public. Whenever this occurs, it is then put on the next agenda for the next month’s meeting. Meeting agenda’s are, by law, made public 10 days before each monthly FPPC meeting. Anything after that date gets put to the next upcoming agenda."
