Convicted sex offender suing Humboldt County in two lawsuits?
More litigation against the County. Humboldt is the never ending gift to lawyers and people who want to sue the County.
I will have to look up and see if the Shawn L. Perrot listed on the BOS agenda is the same convicted sex offender Shawn Lee Perrot I reported about on the blog.

That convicted sex offender is suing Duane Christian in the Ninth District Court under the Civil Rights Act. Humboldt Correctional Facility has a Captain Duane Christian.
After what I went through with the County getting information on former correctional officer and convicted molestor Cory Fisher, it is easier to just get information on court cases myself.
Multiple arrests by multiple agencies for the same frequent Humboldt crimes for one day
Samantha Rae Cline was arrested by Humboldt County Sheriff's Office yesterday for PC 273.5 (a) corporal injury to a spouse/cohabitant. Initially she was refused to be booked by medical which can mean anything from her being too high or drunk or it being unsafe to book her.

"Rory, if this isn't about just money, then hold out and don't settle."
There was a case management conference today in the lawsuit filed by former Deputy Public Defender Rory Kalin against Humboldt Superior Court Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis, former Public Defender Marek Reavis and current Public Defender Luke Brownfield.
Of course, there is another continuance and October jury trial is vacated.
"Out, out, damn spot"
The spot on the 4th Street wall of the courthouse next to the jail is finally clean. Too bad, cleaner cannot remove the hate and taint inside the Courthouse emanating from the five elected clowns, their failure to behave like adults and their lack of capacity to lead this County with maturity and transparency.
Maxwell Elliot has already been arrested three times in 2022
Yet, another press release by HCDTF about an arrest and investigation into frequent, repeat offenders with warrants. Eating donuts, survelling and arresting the same people with warrants is not reducing crime in Humboldt. What it does is rack up stats for certain law enforcement all buddy buddy with the good ole Humboldt boy club while other officers and deputies actually work hard and respond to every call and also arrest new criminals.
Maxwell Elliot was arrested in March 2022, January 2022 and September 2021 by HCSO.
I covered Silverman in a previous court case.
HCSO "business manager" who is friends with the Honsals just wants the Auditor Controller to trust them and not require timesheets?
I asked Humboldt County Auditor Controller Karen Paz Dominguez if I could post a response she gave to a question Eric Kirk asked her so I could add additional information in my post about who this HCSO business manager was and the relevancy. I already knew who this person was but wanted to make sure.
Torin's face when he realizes contempt of court results in an arrest even if he got released later on O.R.
Torin Eskil Nergaard Hewson was arrested by HCSO yesterday for PC 166 (a)(4), contempt of court. It is a misdemeanor charge and he was released on O.R.
Hewson has an arraignment date in May to be arraigned on two cases in the system. Charges in those cases include DUI, hit and run and aggravated tresspass. Hewson had a bench warrant for failure to appear.
Sex offender Joseph Hall gets two years probation and 180 days in jail which he can serve via SWAP
Sex offender Joseph Hall was finally sentenced on April 19, 2022.A criminal protective order was served. Jane Doe made a victim impact statement. Hall was placed on probation for two years sentenced to 180 days in jail and given a commit to jail date of 5/28. Hall can sign up for SWAP and has 37 days of custody credits. In my previous post about the plea, I mentioned that Hall had a cap time for jail and he pleaded guilty to false imprisonment and unlawfully touching intimate part of another. Those crimes are different because he was originally charged with rape.

No jail time, probation and community service in hit and run case
Demmeri Carr was sentenced today in her hit and run case. The plea was conditioned on a grant of probation. No jail time, probation and community service work.
I could care less what Rex Bohn does and if he wants to carry around Mike Newman campaign signs in his truck so why did I take this photo today?
I could care less what Rex Bohn does and if he wants to carry around Mike Newman campaign signs in his truck so why did I take this photo today?
I was at the Courthouse. Rex's truck was parked on 5th Street. The opportunity presented itself to call out the bs that is not "news". A chance to expose the misinformation and repeated attacks by a group of people on someone inconvenient to the County. A chance to call out a "media outlet" deliberately stoking the flames of division in a community instead of spending time providing helpful, factual information about the upcoming election.
Mauricio Johnson not eligible for parole until 2045
That Mauricio Johnson hearing today was just a hearing to receive the Prohibited Persons Relinquishment Form. He is housed at the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison in Corcoran. Parole eligibility dates change but as of today, Johnson is eligible for parole in February 2045.

A member of the public was just able to access and talk to Auditor Controller staff
I am at the Courthouse and at 2:22 p.m. saw a member of the community outside the Auditor Controller office talking with a staff member. The man was very happy dropping off the documents and had his questions answered. He seemed grateful and had a pleasant experience. Maybe making an appointment and reading instructions on the door helps you have access without issues?
No private attorney for Austin Medeiros
Kneeland homicide suspect Austin Michael Medeiros wanted to retain a private attorney so his arraignment was continued to 4/21.
Another reckless driving suspect that fled and wasted HCSO and multiple law enforcement agencies' time
On April 21, 2022, at about 1:05 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for reckless driving in the area of Janes Road in Arcata.
