Root Birimisa is back in Humboldt jail from Mendocino jail

 


Root Harvest Birimisa was booked into the Humboldt jail yesterday on his Humboldt case. He had been in Mendocino for other charges. He was arraigned on 12/8; Conflict Counsel's office appointed; preliminary hearing is on 1/9/24.

Nothing happening in Humboldt alleged molestation case since Root Birimisa is in Mendocino jail for hit and run and DUI charges

 


Root Birimisa is in custody at the Mendocino jail on hit and run and DUI so I knew there would be no preliminary today in his alleged molestation case in Humboldt.

Eureka man with 8 cases arrested in Mendocino for arson and burglary

Benjamin Dimmick who had 8 cases in Eureka when I last covered him in 2018 was arrested by MCSO on 2/17 for arson and burglary. Of those 8 prior cases, one was a dismissal.

Santa Rosa man convicted of assault with intent to rape an unconscious woman


This afternoon, a Mendocino County Superior Court jury found Lamont Alexander Dean guilty of assault with the intent to commit rape of an unconscious woman.

Ukiah and Fort Bragg courthouses closed due to COVID 19 related incidents in court operations

 


Since there are attorneys that practice in Humboldt and Mendocino and some of these attorneys appear in person, I emailed Humboldt Superior Court CEO Kim Bartleson to see if there were any concerns about potential exposure for the courts. 

"In response to your question, there are not any specific concerns relative to what has occurred in Mendocino. The COVID operational protocols the court has implemented will help mitigate possible issues," said Ms. Bartleson.

Tried to find out if Carpathian was still employed with the local courts after his plea to sexual abuse of a minor


I asked Humboldt Superior Court CEO Kim Bartleson of court clerk John Beideman aka Carpathian was still employed with the courts.

Her response,"Your inquiry is about a confidential personnel matter and the court is unable to respond to questions concerning confidential personnel matter."

Mendocino County and MCSO file motion in Neuroth et al v. Mendocino County et al

A press conference via phone will be held tomorrow by Mendocino Sheriff Tom Allman to discuss updates in a lawsuit pending against the Sheriff's Office and the County of Mendocino. During this press conference Sheriff Allman is expected to provide information about a motion filed by Mendocino County and MCSO in James Neuroth v. Mendocino County et al. Spaces to the press conference are limited.

Cortez Little sentenced to 120 days in jail, three years formal probation

Cortez Little was scheduled to be sentenced on May 17. He is still in Humboldt County jail, waiting extradition to Tennessee.

District Attorney requests continuance, Mexican citizen Hugo Aguirre preliminary rescheduled for May 9


Intervention for Hugo Aguirre has been rescheduled for May 7. Preliminary hearing was rescheduled for May 9.

On April 4, the District Attorney's office filed a motion to continue. On April 9, that motion was granted.

After pleading to a lesser charge in his alleged molestation case, Randall Miles Cook now wants his criminal record expunged

Randall Miles Cook, who was originally charged with more serious charges of molesting his own granddaughter pleaded guilty in 2013 before his preliminary.

Today, his case was on to expunge his criminal record under PC 1203.4.

Visiting Judge Leonard LaCasse referred Cook's case to probation. Next court hearing is April 25.
