Tweaker mouths off to me and says he will call EPD, I call his bluff

The tweaker who thought he had a right to camp out on private property, shoot up and trash the place had plenty of  bluster initially but he slunk away like the coward he is after I did not allow him to intimidate me.



I asked two guys causing a disturbance and getting ready to get high to get off private property and move along. One guy started to  leave but his younger, able bodied buddy mouthed off telling me he had a right to sit.

I enlightened him that he did not. I pay the rent, it is private property and he had  been causing a disturbance for a while. I told him this is not where he could not get his fix. I told him pick up his trash and he had five minutes before I called EPD.

He said, "I am going to call them" and made a crude gesture. I told him go ahead. That threw him off and he started yelling more obscenities at me.

I finally told him, "Why don't you get a job and a house?" That made him leave. Ten minutes later, two other GMOB were back in the same spot. This is the third time today that I have had to tell tweakers to leave in less than a hour.

Tolerance of such behavior impacts the working class and working poor. The alley and the two half way houses on the corner attract such riff raff on a daily basis. Misunderstanding of the Ninth Circuit ruling and local enablers of this kind behavior endanger the safety and promote harassment of law abiding citizens.

I could call EPD daily but I don't. We have created aggressive bums and leeches that don't care about gates, floodlights or anyone else.  I understand the challenges of finding a job and affordable housing in this area. People who would rather get high than make any effort to improve their lives or respect others are a part of the problem.

Eureka City Council needs to pass the aggressive and obstructive ordinance.
