Security National Properties takes first step towards community housing project near Indianola cutoff

 

Security National Properties just filed an application as the first step for a community housing project near Indianola cutoff.  The appropriate paperwork was just submitted to the Board of Supervisors.

Security National' Properties Kenneth Carswell told me, "Northpoint Consulting Group filed the petition. The Board of Supervisors were all called to notify them of the petition being filed."

"We are not quite ready to release a unit count as we are in initial studies and have not yet determined that number," said Mr. Carswell. He handles Leasing and Operations at SNP.

Rex claims he hasn't seen the Bongio video and whines about being called names

 

Fifth District Supervisor Steve Madrone  summarized the agenda item he bought forth for discussion today in a calm, respectful, articulate manner. In contrast, First District Supervisor Rex Bohn whined, threw a childish tantrum because people who pay his overinflated salary had the audacity to call out his friend and fellow racist about disgraceful behavior documented on video.

The court administration has not said anything about Hale since my first post but I can tell you that former court mediator Joe Hale who was arrested for PC 647(j) (2) criminal invasion of privacy is no longer employed with Humboldt Superior Court. A new mediator, Velda Gooden is handling cases.

Logan Luster arrested for domestic violence

Logan Glen Luster was arrested by Eureka Police Department yesterday for PC 273.5(a), corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant.

Public is not going to show up for predictable vote

 

It is 9:04, besides Humboldt Grand Jury Chair Jim Glover, DHHS and County staff, there does not seem to be any public here for the BOS meeting. 

Leo Rosecrans arrested for violation of a protective order

Leo Josh Rosecrans was arrested by Fortuna Police Department yesterday for PC 273.6 (a), violation of a protective order. Rosecrans has two cases in Humboldt Superior Court system.

A 2022 civil harrassment case was dismissed and the court denied the restraining order. There was a restraining order granted on 2/28/22 for three years  in a divorce case which was filed in 2021.

Two DUIS, two bench warrants and he is not remanded Judge Neel?

 

I was going to attend today's trial confirmation hearing and arraignment on second DUI  for Corbett Petersen in person but as you can see I have had a busy day. I had bigger fish to fry than wait to see if Corbett showed up. His hearings are always on days when there are multiple court cases and other news.

The People objected to the motion to continue; they asked for remand. Corbett has previous failures to appear and you let him walk out Judge Kelly Neel? 

Judge Neel, you know I have a lot of respect for you as a Judge. I have commended you on the blog and in person but I disagree with this ruling. The People tried to protect the public. 

Settlement, fines, lawsuit involving Bohn endorser Robert Figas

 

Earlier today, I did a post about several tips where people claimed a body was discovered on a project site contracted to Figas Construction and local tribes. One of my sources sent me the June 2022 press release from City of Eureka clarifying the location where the dead body was found.

Besides Alan Bongio, First District Supervisor Rex Bohn is pretty chummy with Robert Figas promoting Figas on his Facebook page. Lot of businesses donate and do good for the community but all don't get the "Rex shout out." Figas is a Bohn endorser.

A google search brought up these lawsuits, fines, penalties and settlent  involving Robert Figas and Figas Construction. A search result in Humboldt Superior Court shows 24 cases for Figas Construction.

Mistrial in child endangerment case

 

Jury deadlocked and a mistrial was declared in Leslie Shanklin's child endangerment case. Setting for retrial is scheduled on September 29.

Fifth arrest just in 2022 for Melvin Dwayne Matthews

45 cases come up for Melvin Dwayne Matthews in the Humboldt Superior Court system. Three are duplicates. He already has four open 2022 cases.

Who is Matthews going to snitch on this time and testify against to try and cut a deal with DA?

Newsom signs legislation to increase penalties for hate crimes

Amid an increase in hate-fueled violence across the country, Governor Gavin Newsom today signed legislation to equalize and strengthen penalties for using hate symbols and bolster security for targeted religious and community-based nonprofits. 

Whited has already been to the State Hospital, was sent back and this 2019 case has dragged on with continuances

 

Opera Alley murder suspect Connor Whited had trial confirmation and status of Dr. Renouf's report scheduled for September 15 was continued to 10/26.
