So the same investigator who works for HCSO and did work for Ray Christie investigated allegations against the Auditor Controller?

The investigative Services mentioned by the Board of Supervisors in a report released from closed session today is Filomeo Investigative Services,  a firm in Eureka. I am pretty sure that is Jim Filomeo who also works with Humboldt County Sheriff's Office and I believe has  done some work for Ray Christie on his case.

Filomeo is hardly a third party, independent investigator.

Newsom signed legislation to eliminate out-of-pocket costs for abortion services

Amid continued attacks on reproductive freedom throughout the country, Governor Gavin Newsom today signed legislation to eliminate out-of-pocket costs for abortion services, ensuring cost is not a barrier to accessing care.

"The witchhunt against the Auditor Controller has dominated the news cycle. I am sick of it. Most of the public is tired of this back and forth bickering."

At 4:56 p.m. I received an email from  John Bartholomew, Humboldt County Treasure Tax Collector.

Read the investigation about the 9 year old who was found unresponsive at the Ingomar Club pool

I found a report "regarding the little boy who died at the ignomar club last summer." I was told this information is public. It is.

None of the other local media reported what I did last September about the 9 year old's death.

Confusion, tech issues and no information regarding the Auditor Controller and BOS litigation

The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors had a set time at today's meeting to for a conference call. They just went into closed session a couple of minutes ago for the item. I doubt they will release any information when they go back to regular session.

Around 9:10 County Counsel said, "15 to 20 minutes but hard to say", it is now 10:05.

This potential litigation is against the Auditor Controller and BOS? Is she included in this conference call? Has she been told what the allegations and basis of this "anonymous" lawsuit are?

"Are you asking me to prioritize these invoices over the 1,200 others awaiting payment?

(image from Frum Follies)

"Are you asking me to prioritize these invoices over the 1,200 others awaiting payment? You already know the reasons for any delay so I won’t list them here." Humboldt Auditor Controller Karen Paz Dominguez to First District Supervisor Rex Bohn.

Yes, Karen, how dare you get in the way of Rex or any other Supervisor and their psychophants pontificating on Facebook about how responsive these Supervisors are? Don't you know you aren't supposed to question the "Humboldt way"?

I am still waiting for Rex to answer who his gentleman friends are. I am still waiting for DHHS to explain why they didn't investigate fraud. DHHS blows off a lot of complaints. Even when you get a County Supervisor to intervene. A lot of local motels got money to house people,a lot of local property owners rent to DHHS clients over locals who work and are struggling. Rex and DHHS, lets see who these people are that needed to get "priority".

Below are two email exchanges. One is about Cloney's.

Timothy Ziegler cannot hold onto a lawyer

Timothy Ziegler had a motion to consolidate two cases and trial assignment scheduled on March 18.

Ziegler has been arrested for assault and criminal threats. I started covering his case when DA investigators cuffed him outside court. Since then all there is to report is a continuance or new lawyer.

"While the election for Judge doesn't receive the same fanfare as the race race for District Attorney or Supervisor, it is nonetheless critical to the community."

(Elan Firpo, Michael Evenson and Kelly Neel)

I did a post on  March 17 about Deputy Public Defender Ben McLaughlin's official campaign kickoff which is happening right now. In the same post, tI mentioned a "Meet the candidate" event at the Humboldt Bay Social Club this evening. Judge Christopher Wilson is retiring and Ben is one of the candidates running for that seat.

"While I appreciate the Treasurer-Tax Collector taking the time to respond, I’m afraid he is not addressing the point I made."

"Good morning, John,

Thank you so much for providing me the opportunity to respond. While I appreciate the Treasurer-Tax Collector taking the time to respond, I’m afraid he is not addressing the point I made."

This is a direct contradiction to the accusation last week by the Auditor-Controller that cannabis payments “were not recorded into the general ledger as yours but rather as a lump sum along with hundreds of other people's money."

In response to Humboldt Auditor Controller Karen Paz Dominguez claims, John Bartholomew, Treasurer-Tax Collector, Humboldt County is the first Department head to respond to me directly.

Michael Acosta representing felon in lawsuit against Bear River Band of Rohnerville Rancheria

Felon and suspected meth dealer Roy Robinson is represented by local attorney and District Attorney candidate in a lawsuit against  Bear River Band of Rohnerville Rancheria and Josefina Cortez.

Robinson was arrested in 2021 when the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, assisted by the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office and Bear River Tribal Police Department served search warrant and arrested Robinson in Loleta.

Daniel Egger has been repeatedly arrested for years by Humboldt, Mendocino and California law enforcement

Daniel Dean Egger was arrested by Fortuna Police Department yesterday for domestic battery.

This is what comes up when you search Daniel Egger in California.  Some of these arrests are before I started this blog.

Like I said previously, you cannot sue someone anonymously

The only constant drama and political theater in Humboldt County is from anonymous comments, anonymous smears and anonymous attacks.

Are these people anonymous due to fear of retribution or like most anons use the cowardly option because it involves zero risk, they can't be sued or held accountable for what they say and they don't have to provide evidence. Their anonymity prevents the media and public from seeing any conflict of interest and their small town connections.

O.R. for Ramey warrant arrest for criminal threats and brandishing a weapon in public place

Jason Wesley Lane was arrested yesterday by HCSO on a Ramey warrant for criminal threats and PC417(a) (2), brandishing a firearm or deadly weapon in a public place.

See for yourself how much Humboldt and Mendocino got from the CTC $578 million allocation

The California Transportation Commission (CTC) this week allocated $578 million for projects to repair and improve transportation infrastructure throughout the state. Senate Bill (SB) 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, accounts for $317 million – more than half of the funding.

Two years plus, will there be a jury trial in the Ryan Tanner case next week?

Murder suspect Ryan Tanner had a hearing on March 15 for a ruling by Judge Kaleb Cockrum. He has another hearing today scheduled with the trial assignment calendar.

Will the jury trial  scheduled for March 21 be a go? Yes but the charges will be different. The District Attorney has filed a second amended motion. Judge Cockrum will preside over the trial.
