On Aug. 16, 2021, at about 6:27 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a parking lot on the 7300 block of Tompkins Hill Road for the report of a vandalism and brandishing that had just occurred.

As I previously reported, Luke Brownfield appointed as Public Defender

 

This is hardly breaking or unexpected news. I reported in June about the BOS appointing Luke Brownfield as Public Defender. 

Brownfield is currently a co-defendant with former Public Defender Marek Reavis and Humboldt Superior Court Judge Gregory Elvine-Kreis in a lawsuit filed by former deputy Public Defender Rory Kalin.

HCSO Deputy who resigned is Matthew Arellano. CHP PIO Paul Craft provided the press release for the August 7 incident. CHP investigation provided information that contradicted Arellano's initial statement to officers.

San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo wants Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith to resign.

According to ABC7 Bay Area, Mayor Licardo is the listed the following reasons for Sheriff Smith to resign:

Opera alley murder suspect to be arraigned on charges for jury trial this morning

Murder suspect Connor Whited is scheduled to be arraigned this morning on the same charges he was held to answer after the preliminary hearing. 

Arraignment was continued to August 23 at request of defense.

Joshua White arrested for posession of meth, altering id on a firearm and other charges

 

Joshua Jon White was arrested early this morning on  HS 11370. 1 (a), posession of a controlled substance while armed;  PC 12090 altering identification on a firearm, HS 11377 (a),possession of meth and two counts of VC 14601.2 (a), driving on a suspended/revoked license. He posted bail.

HCSO gets Ford truck donated to combat human trafficking

 

The Center to Combat Human Trafficking is donating a truck to all five Northern California counties for law enforcement use.

Technically, the Board of Supervisors have to vote on this at the August 17 meeting. 

Why did local media that got grants for COVID 19 not publish this information?

 

Publishing it after my post does not count. If these sources are so good at what they do, they shouldn't need grants. They have advertisers, don't they? According to their supporters, they are so popular and widely read. So why do they need government assistance to inform the public?
