Stephanie Harrow arrested again in 4 days

Stephanie Ann Harrow was arrested and released on OR on May 23. She was arrested again yesterday by Eureka Police Department for public intoxication. After spending some time in jail, she was released on O.R.

The  coronavirus  pandemic  has  clearly  shown  the  flaws  in  our institutions.  It's  also  showing  how  much  we  need  each  other  and  how  powerful  we  can  be  when we  stand  together.

Yesterday, I reported that the autopsy for 84 year old Roger "Mitch" Clark was completed this weekend. He is the former owner of Baywest Supply. I also asked EPD if there are any leads or suspects.

Today, EPD issued a press release and photos.

Four new COVID 19 cases confirmed today acquired through contact with another known case

Four new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed today, bringing to 98 the total number of Humboldt County residents who have tested positive for the virus. All four of the new cases were acquired through contact with another known case.

Setting of an evidentiary hearing for competency and to hear a motion for a new trial was scheduled for Wayne Graham this morning.

Humboldt County Deputy DA Amanda Sardis joined the office in April

Humboldt District Attorney's Office has a new Deputy DA since April. Ms. Amanda Sardis appeared via Zoom today for some of the misdemeanor cases on the 9:15 calendar.

With public and media having no access to the 2nd floor and the courts due to the pandemic, Ms. Sardis gets to familiarize herself with the Humboldt Superior Court at her own pace.

Brandon Mitchell was on calendar the last time  with two other co-defendants for a restitution hearing. That hearing got continued to June 4.

"At this time, it does not appear that Jlyn or her sister were the victims of a crime. "

The City of Rio Dell provided this update to the press release about the missing 14 year old.

"On  May  27,  2020,  shortly  after  noon,  Sergeant  John  Beauchaine  located  Jlyn  Roybal  at  a  residence  in  Scotia.  At  this  time,  it  does  not  appear  that  Jlyn  or  her  sister  were  the  victims  of  a  crime. "

Rio Dell seeks information on missing 14 year old and this suspect vehicle

The  Rio  Dell  Police  Department  is  currently  working  on  a  missing  person  case  with  serious  implications.

"There is no resolution, your honor."

Trial confirmation was scheduled this morning for Samantha Luna. Jury trial scheduled for June 15 was vacated and continued on the Court's motion.

Richard French goes off on a rant in court and criminal proceedings are suspended

After not guilty pleas were entered, specialallegations were denied and dates were set for his jury trial this morning, Richard French went off on a rant.

"I am confused," said French. "I am under protective custody. I am expecting to go home now. I have not been charged."

Defense requests documents from VA relating to "Dirty Dave"

995 motion as well as motion to compel was scheduled for vehicular manslaughter and DUI suspect Gary Cudney this morning. Cudney is charged with the death of Dwight Davis aka "Dirty Dave.

Restaurants certified by Humboldt OES can begin dine in services, hair salons can submit a reopening plan

Restaurants that have been certified by the Humboldt County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) can begin dine-in services as early as this Friday. Places of worship may reopen with safety modifications in place.

No additional COVID 19 cases were confirmed today

Humboldt County’s COVID-19 case count remains at 94 as no additional cases were confirmed today.

On a daily basis, people ask about Mitch Clark so I asked about autopsy and leads

84-year-old Roger Mitchell Clark was found deceased in his home last week. He is the former owner of Baywest Supply. I followed up with EPD and HCSO on his autopsy and asked about cause of death. I also asked EPD if there are any leads or suspects.

EPD Crime Analyst Brittany Powell told me, the autopsy was completed over the weekend. She is going to check with the detectives and if more information can be released. When there is an update, I will do a separate post.
