Clayton Lasinski case could resolve, defense offers "11 years on the bus"
Pre trial was scheduled for assault suspect Clayton Lasinski on February 20. Jury trial is scheduled for June 1.
Deputy District Attorney Trent Timm is the prosecutor for the case. Deputy Conflict Counsel R.J. Leohner is Lasinski's attorney. At the last hearing, attorneys had indicated the case would resolve.

Jack Daniels on trial
Jack Daniels has 25 cases listed in the Humboldt Superior Court system. On calendar for Courtroom 5, there are 7 cases listed with charges ranging from DUI, robbery, felon in possession of a firearm and include both felonies and misdemeanors. Jury selection is currently going on for the alleged home invasion robbery case. The other cases are "trailing."
Defense has not received autopsy report so preliminary hearing for murder suspect Daniella Moore was rescheduled
Intervention and a defense motion to continue the preliminary hearing was scheduled this afternoon for murder suspect Daniella Moore.
Human remains located on Crooked Prairie Road
On Feb. 18, 2020, Humboldt County Sheriff’s crime scene investigators continued their investigation of a property on Crooked Prairie Road associated with a reported homicide.

After winning his 995 motion, Deputy Public Defender Casey scores another court victory for Franklin Molina today
Motion to amend information for kidnapping, robbery, assault suspect Franklin Molina was scheduled. As I mentioned in my last post, the ruling would be favorable to the defense based on Judge Christopher Wilson's 995 ruling. While Judge Wilson granted some firearm enhancements, he denied several charges requested by the People.
Victim's mother arrested for homicide last night on Union Street
EPD Chief Steve Watson: "EPD has a suspect in custody from last night’s shooting homicide—the victim’s mother, Pamela Faye Millsap, age 38. She was arrested and booked on a manslaughter charge. A press release will be forthcoming soon."
Bail is $35,000 according to Humboldt County jail. She was arrested last night.
Even Judge Wilson said he was a bit confused, court records need to be clear
Court records indicate both setting for Catherine Fode's case and sentencing was vacated. Even Judge Christopher Wilson said he was a bit confused. Today, Fode's attorney, Mr. Neal Sanders said it was set for setting of sentencing, however Fode's sentencing is pending the outcome of other cases.

"I can confirm EPD is investigating an apparent homicide that occurred in a residence on the 2200 block of Union Street around 7:30 PM tonight. Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance there. While officers were still en route, a caller reported a shot had been fired.

HCSO deputies find trash, nails left after a party at Centerville Beach County Park
HCSO deputies on patrol this weekend discovered trash left behind from a beach party at Centerville Beach County Park. Several pallets were burned leaving nails in the sand. Red solo cups were found scattered all over. HCSO reminds the public that camp fires are permitted on some beaches if County code requirements are followed. That does not include leaving trash and a burning fire.
Catherine Fode's sentencing for tomorrow vacated; attorney files for release pending sentencing
Catherine Fode, the first Manila 5 suspect to enter a guilty plea was scheduled to be sentenced on February 19. That date has been vacated the way it listed in court records. No new sentencing date has been entered, yet. Fode pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.
Her attorney, Neal Sanders filed an application for release pending sentencing 2/14. Hearing on this application is scheduled for March 4. Sentencing for three other suspects was rescheduled to March 9.
Ryan Anthony Tanner arrested for murder and brandishing a weapon
Ryan Anthony Tanner arrested by HCSO on a Ramey warrant for PC 187 (a), murder and PC 417 (b),brandishing a weapon/firearm. Unless a Judge rules differently, Tanner is being held on a no bond status.

HSU tightlipped on allegations regarding faculty member having paid sex with multiple students
I contacted HSU University Police Chief Donn Peterson. He referred me to HSU VP Frank Whitlach. I called the Marketing and Communications Department. I spoke with Grant Scott-Goforth who was very reluctant to provide any additional information.

Then he passed out in broad daylight. Unlike Perez, people who live and work in the neighborhood didn't have the luxury to "sleep in."
CSET was patrolling the area and checked up on him.

Supervised release denied for Alma Ahumadamendoza
Supervised release was denied today for Alma Ahumadamendoza, who is charged as an accessory after the fact in the Johnny Renfro homicide case. She has an immigration hold.
Deputy Public Defender David Celli told Judge Lawrence Killoran that a motion to continue
"maybe forthcoming". Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer agreed and said she anticipates the same request from co-defendant Demetrius Coleman based on discovery provided.
