No charges filed yet for Alicia Rose's latest arrest


One woman who plays a key role in the Brian Leiteritz case and three men who dated her at different times has not been charged yet by the Humboldt County District Attorney.

Day 4 of Brian Leiteritz's preliminary hearing. Terrance Ford was here and early. Attorneys went in at 9:16 a.m. Ford is on call.

Franklin Molina's case could resolve, counts could be dismissed but we wont know for another month



A 995 motion by the defense to dismiss Counts 1, 6 and 7 was rescheduled for September 19 for kidnapping, robbery and assault suspect Franklin Molina.

Jury trial for robbery and murder suspect Richard Dean scheduled for March 23



Further trial setting was scheduled on September 19 for robbery and murder suspect Richard Dean. His third case for battery on a custodial officer was scheduled for disposition/reset this morning but it is trailing the other cases.

Eureka City Manager job requirement changed?




I have put in a PRA request and contacted the City of Eureka. Heard from two different sources that the Eureka City Manager job description has changed and no longer requires a  degree in public administration.

Murder, manslaughter or self defense ruling for Brian Leiteritz?


Brian Leiteritz is charged with the murder of Dylon Liakos.

Daniel Vilas sentenced to 16 years for child molestation



Defendant Daniel Clay Vilas, age 62, of Jamestown, was sentenced Wednesday morning in the Mendocino County Superior Court to 16 years in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).

"They are trying to break into my house. They just turned my electricity off."




At the end of today, two 911 calls by Brian Leiteritz were played by Deputy District Attorney Steven Steward.

Alleged molestor Patricio Segura's jury trial reset after he pulls time waiver



At trial confirmation for alleged molestor Patricio Segura, he pulled his time waiver. Trial confirmation is on October 22. Jury trial reset for November 4.

Alleged victim is his stepdaughter.

Attorneys mentioned dismissal and meeting with the Judge in Leiteritz case



Deputy District Attorney Steven Steward and Mr. Michael Robinson just went in to meet with Judge Miles before couet resumes this afternoon for the Brian Leiteritz preliminary hearing. HCSO Investigator Scott Hicks and HCSO Deputy Eric Losey went in with the attorneys.

HCSO Deputy Eric Losey took the stand at 11:30. He was the first officer and first responder to arrive on scene on August 9.

Whether the nearly two hour cross examination of Alicia Rose this morning by Brian Leiteritz's attorney, Mr. Michael Robinson, will result in impeachment of her or Terrance Ford remains to be seen.

First DA serves him with invalid subpoena, then jail does not release "Chopper"



Before testimony even got started today for Brian Leiteritz's preliminary, there was another issue with "Chopper" aka Terrance Ford.

Third Deputy DA to leave Humboldt County DA's office this year

Josh Rosenfeld, Joel Buckingham and now Luke Bernthal have left the Humboldt County District Attorney Office this year for other career opportunities.

The endless continuances paid off for Aaron Hooven


After endless continuances, at intervention yesterday, the day before his preliminary hearing, Aaron Hooven entered a guilty plea to Count 1, shooting at an inhabitated dwelling. Count 2, assault with a firearm on a person was dismissed. Sentencing is November 6.

Alicia Rose and Terrance Ford's  versions differ. Their versions matched up until they left 1140 Boss Road the first time.

Major screwup by the DA's office who served "Chopper" with an invalid subpoena

Alicia Rose and Terrance Ford were granted immunity by the DA for testifying at the Brian Leiteritz preliminary. Judge Miles told Rose and Ford the immunity does not include perjury.
