Bench warrant issued for arson suspect Stephen Paiment who failed to appear in court for preliminary hearing

 


On 1/28, arson suspect Stephen Paiment failed to appear for his preliminary hearing. Humboldt Superior Court Judge Kaleb Cockrum issued a bench warrant for $75,000.

Last August Humboldt Superior Court Judge Kelly Neel ordered supervised release and electronic monitoring for Paiment.

2/19/26: Paiment was arrested by EPD and booked into jail on his bench warrant.

2/24/26:  Arraigned on warrant; $75,000 bail set by Retired Judge John Feeney; still represented by Public Defender's office.

2/26/26: OR and supervised release denied by Judge Feeney. Preliminary hearing on 3/18.
