Starting this Fall, Humboldt court case management can be viewed from home; self help center receives approximately $132,000 in funding

In 2016, I talked with Humboldt Superior Court CEO Kim Bartleson. That post is linked below. Ms. Bartleson has delivered on several promises made in that post. Under her leadership, the Humboldt Superior Court has made many needed and beneficial changes.

Court operations employees are available on the second floor in the courthouse. Many tasks that required people to go outside the Courthouse to 4th and I can be handled on the same floor as the courts. It is very convenient if you just want to pay your court fine or set up a payment arrangement right after court.

Starting this Fall, people will be access the court case management from home. Currently, these public records can only be viewed on two computers on the second floor or a third computer in the law library. The third computer was also added since Ms. Bartleson took over.

Under Ms. Bartleson, the self help center on the third floor of the Courthouse has gained an attorney facilitator and now thanks to funding by the Judicial Council, a court operations employee who started today. Prior to this there was just a paralegal. Computers were added t

The self help center recently  received approximately $132,000 in funding. The employee and a 65 inch TV for workshops are just two of the changes.

As mentioned in a previous post, Humboldt Superior Court is a dnor court, we often lose funding. So getting funds for a change is a good thing.  Courts throught California  were able to get these funds due the the California Judicial Council lobbying for these funds.
