Not the first assault charge for inmate Cameron Johnson who attacked correctional deputy

This is not Cameron Johnson's first assault charge. In the cases listed above, I checked only a few cases in detail. Charges ranged from drug offenses, camping in public, assault. Of the few cases I checked in detail; there was one dismissal.

HCSO Press Release:

On March 11, 2018, at about 9 p.m., a correctional deputy working in the maximum-security unit of the Humboldt County Correctional Facility was assaulted by a male inmate during the inmate’s regular day-room allowance.

The inmate, 26-year-old Cameron Jared Johnson of Arcata, was occupying a common room in the unit when he attempted to stab the deputy in the neck/facial area with a sharpened pencil. The deputy was able to take control of the situation and detain Johnson until backup arrived. Johnson and the deputy sustained minor injuries during the incident.

Johnson has been charged with assault on a custodial officer, assault with a deadly weapon on a custodial officer and violation of probation.
