Darin Ward was arraigned on 9/23. The DA has charged Ward with 10 felonies. The charges filed by the DA have slightly different penal codes but they are still sex crimes involving a minor and include sex trafficking of a minor for a commercial act, contact with a minor for a sexual offense and lewd act upon a child and distributing or showing pornography to a minor. There are 4 alleged victims Doe listed in the complaint.
At arraignment bail was set at $217,500 by Judge Kaleb Cockrum. Ward posted bail on 9/24 through Bill Davidson Bonds and was released from custody. Initially, the Public Defender's office was appointed at arraignment. A confirmation of counsel was scheduled with the OR bail hearing on 9/25 and on that day Mr. Ken Bareilles was appointed and bail was increased by Judge Cockrum to $255,000, criminal protective order filed and served on Ward and he was remanded into custody. Preliminary and and PPR report is scheduled for 10/4.
