Court makes several attempts to contact Michael Acosta and "have not had any success"

Trial assignment for convicted human trafficker David Anderson was scheduled for this morning on the 9:15 calendar. Anderson sat in the jail conference waiting for his attorney, while every other case was called.

Mr. Michael Acosta is Anderson's attorney. Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is the prosecutor for the case. At 9:42 a.m Judge Christopher Wilson called the case, no Mr. Acosta. At 9:57,still no Acosta.

Ms. Eads had received an email fromMr. Acosta and was able to provide some explaination. Mr. Acosta said he was having technical difficulties with his internet.

Motion to continue was filed but noticed for August 17. The case will be recalled at 11 a.m. This isn't the first time Mr. Acosta has been a no show for Anderson's case.

11:15: When the case was recalled, the People opposed the motion to continue. Mr. Acosta said it was a complex case and that the People had added Count 1. Mr. Acosta said he needed time to adequately prep. Judge Wilson granted the motion. Anderson entered a time waiver.

Trial confirmation is on October 13; jury trial is on October 26.

  1. How is Acosta still practicing? There is nothing preventing him from appearing in person. His professionalism is non-existent!

  2. Acosta is known throughout the neighborhood as scum, spit, and vomit on the sidewalk.
We are sick of the threats, and physical violence associated with his house.
