If the unions, Newsom and CA legislature really want to protect gig workers, let the next CA governor executive order speak via action, not empty words

There are people in California who have their rent, health and food paid for by Social Services. They do not have to worry about the basics during the COVID 19 shelter in place and stay at home orders. There are people still receiving a paycheck during this recent shelter in place even if they were told to go home. There are people who are affected but can apply for unemployment insurance and businesses can apply for disaster relief loans. There are others who don't have such options and were struggling before COVID 19. There is no safety net for them.

Everyone is affected and everyone has to sacrifice but some are affected more than others. The same people are always making the sacrifices.

Before begging the Federal Government for more money, Governor Gavin Newsom and the CA legislature need to repeal the bad decision of AB5. That means standing up to the unions. The federal government does not need to bail out a bad decision by California when people are willing to work. Gig workers were affected before COVID 19 and now face more struggles.

If the unions, Newsom and CA legislature really want to protect gig workers, let the next CA Governor's executive order speak via action, not empty words.
