DA Investigator Martin Perrone takes the stand but most of today's testimony was technical

DA Investigator Martin Perrone was on the stand after Timothy Roscoe. Mr. Perrone does forensic extraction. He testified about the process of what he does in detail and how he generates reports.

Before the afternoon break today, Mr. Perrone was going to talk about the cellphones in this case. As of 3:30 p.m.,  he was still going through process, explaining what he did, how to read the report. No substantive information, so far, that verifies any witness' testimony except one reference to a text sent to Rachel Goldberg by Jessica Springer at 2:10.

Other text  messages that were admitted into evidence at the end of the day did not reveal any new information that has not  already been covered by testimony.

A cell phone expert is expected to testify for the defense.

Mr. Perrone has testified in several cases, many jury trials, quite a few high profile cases. At times, unsure of how much detail Mr. Bernthal wanted him to go into, he did a better job answering questions staying on track and establishing foundation for the cell phone evidence presented to the jury.

Mr. Perrone went over the differences between logical, physical and file extraction. Four items discussed today were four cell phones.

Mr. Perrone briefly answered some clarifying questions on March 7 from Deputy District Attorney Bernthal.
