HCSO still in standoff with subject on the 2400 block of Glendale Drive


According to North Coast News, "Major police presence on the 2400 block of Glendale Drive, near Blue Lake. Neighbors tell us deputies have been dealing with some sort of standoff for at least five hours."



Fire department hosed off blood on 3rd street and the alleged stabbing did not happen at the rear of Lost Coast Brewery



Could not reach anyone at EPD yet but found out more about the incident at 3rd and I last night from people who witnessed some of what happened.

Emergency personnel responded to the rear of Lost Coast Brewery for a subject that's reportedly been stabbed.  The suspect(s) fled east on 3rd St in a newer style Gray Jeep Patriot with Arizona license.

The facts that came out of the preliminary are summarized by the following:
1)  Kyle was not aggressive when inquiring about the cell phone and was in fact cordial according to all the witnesses (“Castillo said Zoellner was not being aggressive”).

On 05/13/17 at about 3:50 PM, officers from the Arcata Police Department were investigating the recent vandalism to multiple trees in the downtown area of Arcata.

Is healing a community repeatedly claiming the death of David Josiah Lawson was racially charged crime without any evidence supporting that claim, so far

What have Brothers United done besides being front and center getting media attention to help solve this case? Have those attending the party volunteered to be fingerprinted? Have they agreed to be fingerprinted, if asked?

So supportive people are defined as Elijah Chandler, Tina Sampay, and others still claiming this was a racially based crime without evidence and still maligning this community?

Nolan Bruder sentenced for rape of his 16 year old sister; he gave her marijuana to smoke before having sex with her



The Del Norte District Attorney's Office 
announced that Nolan Bruder (20) of Crescent City was sentenced this afternoon by the Honorable William H. Follett to the low term of three years, with all but 240 days (at half time in county jail) suspended in favor of a grant of probation for Rape of an Intoxicated Person.  The victim in this case was Bruder's sixteen year old sister who he gave high-potency marijuana "dabs" to smoke after she repeatedly resisted his sexual advances until she reached the point of no longer recognizing him as her brother.  Bruder pleaded guilty earlier this month.

"Today we caught something disturbing on video. Maintenance men at Ocean View Cemetery in Eureka golfing on top of graves in the veteran's section. When we realized what was happening and started heading their way, they immediately grabbed their clubs and ball and went to their vehicles. If they'll golf on veteran's graves, what else are they doing where our loved ones are? "

Death of Erika Ekker housed in maximum security at Humboldt County jail being investigated

According to jail reports, Erika Ekker was booked on May 3 for alleged criminal threats.

This was confirmed by HCSO PIO Stacy Hanson. "She was in custody for PC 422 -Criminal threats. She was going through the court process."

Jon Goldberg jury trial for 2016 case continued to October; 995 motion anticipated; motion to consolidate continued again

The motion to consolidate both of Jon Goldberg's cases was rescheduled for today. At the May 11 hearing, Mr. Casey Russo said he would be filing a motion to continue the 2016 case. That motion was filed on May 12.

Elizabeth Scott is suing her former employer, a Silicon Valley online startup focusing on the virtual and augmented reality startup. Defendants named in the lawsuit are Upload Inc, the two co founders and several employees in the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco.

On Monday, May 15, 2017 at about 1540 hours, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a concerned friend of Elizabeth Ana Smith stating that Elizabeth was missing.

Liz Smith needs our help, please reach out to her. Liz, if you are reading this, please contact law enforcement or a friend

After a video that was posted 13 hours ago, by Elizabeth Smith, the former executive director of the Boys and Girls of the Redwood, friends have been frantically trying to reach her.

"Toxicological analyses showed he had taken two different prescription psychotropic drugs prior to the incident."

On Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at about 9 a.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Communications Center received a 911 call from the area of 1770 Sutter Road, Redwood Creek Apartments, McKinleyville. 

"This is why business is down. People don't feel safe! "

"This is why business is down. People don't feel safe! Jase and I experienced someone doing this in a near by spot on the waterfront not long ago. This is bull shit! The city put the cart before the horse moving those people out of Devil's Playground."

"I can confirm a police report was filed on January 16 and the reporting person subsequently followed up with us over the weekend. "


I followed up with Arcata Police Department today regarding the police report filed by Arcata dad. In a comment he made, Arcata dad alleged his attackers included David Lawson, Elijah Chandler and Renalyn Bobadilla.

 I also asked if APD could comment on the David Josiah Lawson investigation.

Two years later, David Viveiros' case of alleged sexual abuse with a minor, including a sodomy charge, has yet to go to jury trial


A motion to continue the jury trial for David Viveiros was scheduled this morning in Courtroom 3. The moton to continue was granted again. Jury trial of May 22 was vacated.

A setting for future dates is scheduled for June 27 at 8:30 a.m.


Murder charge against Leigl dismissed, Count 2 not dismissed

The 995 motion to dismiss charges against Nicholas Leigl was scheduled this morning in Courtroom 2.

Count 1, the murder charge and the special allegation was dismissed today.
