It is official. Kaleb Cockrum appointed interim Public Defender


As expected, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors confirmed the appointment of Mr. Kaleb Cockrum as interim Public Defender.

Some people will recognize Mr. Cockrum as the lawyer appointed to represent Gary Lee Bullock.

    I wish him good luck! Seems like the BOS could have avoided a lot of trouble by doing this nine months ago, but I guess that's not how they roll. One hopes he can persuade some of the departed PDs to return.

    He has his application in for a judgeship, has for a long time (applied for the one GEK got). Neel is expected to get the next one, but sooner or later he'll get the bench. Back to square one.

      I mentioned that to him last week.I think both Mr. Cockrum and Ms. Neel would be good as Judges.
