Before today's arrest, Little Raccoon already had a previous conviction for carrying a loaded firearm in public

Before he was arrested today, Peter James Little Raccoon Hunsucker had a complaint filed November 30 for two misdemeanors. He was not in custody on that case and has an arraignment scheduled for 12/12/17.

Besides these two arrests, he has three other 2016 cases. In one case all charges were dismissed. In another case, he plead guilty and was sentenced to probation for three years. In that case, he was also sentenced and paid fines of $700 and $300 for the charge of carrying a loaded firearm in public. The charge of occupant carrying a concealed weapon in that case was dismissed as a part of the plea.

Press Release:
On Dec. 5, 2017 around 1:18 a.m. a deputy with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office observed a suspicious vehicle idling in the Starbucks parking lot on Myrtle Avenue in Eureka.

While investigating, the deputy discovered 21-year-old Peter James Little Raccoon Hunsucker asleep in the driver’s seat with a loaded firearm on his lap. The deputy safely removed the firearm.

 Hunsucker was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the following charges: felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a loaded firearm in a public place, violation of probation and possession of a controlled substance.

  1. This is sad, I saw this kid in a Chevron Mini Mart one day here in Eureka. He got out of one car that had probably 4-5 guys in it, he proceeds to go into the mini mart and is in line in front of me. He pulls out a large roll of bills and is flashing it around to be sure everybody saw it. One of his buddies came in to ask him something and he was acting like he was the "Leader" and told that guy
    go get back in the car and wait for me." I watched him the entire time as I was in line behind him. These guys were up to no good, another car pulled up and this guy went over and talked to them and then got in his car and they pulled off together. I couldn't help but think they were on there way to do something bad. Just the body language was scary because you could tell something was about to go down. Glad he's locked up, this guy is trouble for sure.

  3. That Starbucks is frequented by Eureka police officers;
    if a criminal hangs out there; he will surely be caught, and was.
