They do this all the time quietly, without wanting any credit

Jeannie Breslin, longtime Eureka Resident and Jesse Klair, owner of the local McDonalds, donate their time to many causes.
Klair will show up at local events like Rotary clean ups with food. Today,  Breslin (on behalf of I like Eureka) and Klair surprised EPD with lunch.  Next week is Humboldt Bay Fire's turn and on November 20 is Humboldt County Sheriff's office.

There are many good deeds, acts of kindness done daily by individuals and businesses. We don't always know about them.

Breslin said, " while we appreciate our first responders all the time, this is the month of Thanksgiving. "

  1. Can't help but think there's greasing of the PD's and Fd's palms here to have them respond "sooner" with the crappy homeless issues daily. Do they own 4th street's north end MCD or 101's Broadway south end MCD? Both places are plagued .

  2. camelg1 I think you're looking through the wrong end of the telescope. It wounds like these are but two examples of what people involved.
I think in both cases, allowing John to post the information wasn't so much 'gee aren't we great' as saying "Contribute to your own community, it'll make you feel good and those you help will feel good too".
With the holidays coming up, it doesn't hurt to remind people of how giving is good for the giver as well as the recipient.
I can be a real skeptic when it comes to some peoples' intentions. Not here, it rings true. I've known people like this.
