Until August 29, Clayton Lasinski was sane? Now, almost 10 months later he isn't competent to stand trial?

Trial confirmation was scheduled this morning for Clayton Lasinski in Courtroom 2. Jury trial was scheduled for November 6.

Instead criminal proceedings were suspended for Lasinski.

On August 29, dates were confirmed. Today, in court, Deputy Conflict Counsel David Lee said he had Dr. Ramirez evaluate his client and declared doubt regarding his competency.

Deputy District Attorney Luke Bernthal was only notified yesterday by defense of this development. After hearing from Mr. Bernthal, Visiting Judge Herrick appointed a second doctor to re-evaluate Lasinski's competency to stand trial.

Lasinski led CHP and EPD through a chase in Eureka after fleeing a traffic stop. This was in December 2016.

Next court date is November 2.
