Nick Johnson to be sentenced this morning for the murder of David Ganfield


Nick Johnson is scheduled to be sentenced this morning at 8:30 for the murder of David Ganfield. and the attempted murder of two DA Investigators.


Sentencing will include victim impact statements.

The minutes from the plea he entered for the Ganfield case are pictured below.

In the Ganfield case, Johnson plead to the lesser charge, Count 1, second degree murder. He also plead guilty to PC 12022 (b) (1), use ofa deadly or dabgerous weapon. This is a sentencing engancement, for which additional time can be imposed.

Count 2 was dismissed.

Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees prosecuted the Ganfield case. Mr. Neal Sanders was appointed to represent Johnson.

Johnson's co defendant for the Ganfield murder, Jonas Semore, is already serving time in prison.
