"My Challenges, Your Benefit: Striving for Employment."

October 2017, is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) with this year’s theme "Inclusion Drives Innovation."

NDEAM celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and educates about the value of a workforce inclusive of their skills and talents.

Locally, the Northwest Committee for the Employment of People with Disabilities (NCEPD) will hold a luncheon recognizing Employment Awareness at the 1301 D Street Neighborhood Center in Arcata, Thursday, October 12, 2017.

This year’s luncheon theme is "My Challenges, Your Benefit: Striving for Employment." It is planned to have a few speakers talk about their experiences about striving for employment share what can be done in the future for further employment of others who may have visible, as well as hidden disabilities.

Brett Shuler, Fine Catering is serving lunch: Farfalle Pasta w/ Caramelized Onion or Grilled Chicken Breast as main courses. RSVP are being accepted to be sure there is enough food to serve by October 5th.
