HCSO goes pink for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office staff will be wearing pink hats during the month of October in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Sheriff’s Office employees, co-workers, family and friends  have been affected by cancer and we understand what is needed to keep up the fight. Our goal is to help increase awareness in our community by showing support for cancer patients and their families.

If you would like to stand with the Sheriff’s Office and support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we have a limited number of hats that will be made available to the public for a $25.00 donation. Our goal is to raise at least $1500.00 from the sale of the hats, but we’d be happy to raise more! Hats can be purchased at the Cloney’s Pharmacy inMckinleyville, 1567 City Center Road, Cloney’s Pharmacy 2515 Harrison Avenue, Eureka and at Green’s Pharmacy, 906 Main Street, Fortuna.

All proceeds, as well as a donation from the Humboldt Deputy Sheriff’s Organization, will be donated to the Humboldt Breast and Gyn Health Project, a local non-profit organization which offers cancer resource services free of charge.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to extend a huge thank you to Lotus Mountain in Fortuna for doing a great job on the hats and working with us to help keep our money in the local community, and to Cloney’s and Green’s for providing a place to make hats available to the public.
