"This is why business is down. People don't feel safe! "

"This is why business is down. People don't feel safe! Jase and I experienced someone doing this in a near by spot on the waterfront not long ago. This is bull shit! The city put the cart before the horse moving those people out of Devil's Playground."

"I do not believe the city has our best interest at heart. This young lady and her or mom witnessed this while eating out for Mother's Day along with many others. You call the police and it takes 15 minutes for them to respond. There hands are tied. Mind you this is the same location a man was just arrested for attacking a person with a baseball bat. When are we going to say this is enough? I don't feel safe in my community! I don't have anywhere to take my kids."

This citizen could not post this on City Council members pages, shared it on Neighborhood Watch Eureka. I told her I am posting it here.

Besides Eureka City Council members, all those who enable this kind of behavior need to see it, all the social justice warrior  who have plenty to say online, often anonymously, yet are not part of the solution, except to attack citizens who just want live their lives every day, without dealing with this constantly.

SJWs need to stand up to the drug dealers and those that contribute to this problem. They don't, they attack those of us that did not cause it.

    2. Thanks for the vote of confidence Anon but as I mentioned before, I have no interest in running for any office in Humboldt. I enjoy what I do, which is doing my best to inform the public and let your voices be heard.

  3. Perhaps some of the SJWs could volunteer to do a ride-along with various LEOs so they can see 'up close & personal' the damage done and the extra work the people they're supporting place on the LEOs...
volunteering in safe locations and convenient times is good but the problems occur when there are a lot of demands on officers' time, when they can hide to avoid confrontation (or any of a number of learned behaviors designed to protect themselves while they disrespect the rights of others.
Maybe some of the 'stories' about mistreatment might evaporate when there's a third party present or maybe a third party would see some of the damage done and think: "That could have been my mother/daughter/son/friend/someone who couldn't protect themself".

If the SJWs are not holding those people responsible for what THEY do as much as they try to hold all sorts of other people and institutions responsible, then I don't think they're showing the courage of their compassion, I think they're abdicating their responsibility to the entire community, claiming a moral high ground that doesn't exist. Let them justify what they do but don't expect others who think and feel differently to respect what they do. They've appointed themselves.

  4. I guess I'm a SJW...I see it up close and personal most days on my job as a letter carrier. I help where I can. If there had been a cop right there I suppose the dude could have been arrested.

I personally would love to see Humboldt County crack down on street parking of RVs and vehicles with overnight occupants, as have many other communities in California:

    1. Bones, you and I may disagree on some things, agree on others, but you always have good insights. Sorry to disappoint you but with that sensible comment above, you are not a SJW. If you were one, you would have said something like let's offer free toilet paper, electricity and fresh coffee to the above mentioned campers and pay for any parking tickets.

  5. John idk your political views on it. This is why I support self defense courses in whatever you can do/ afford. May that just be jujitsu, taser, firearm. One thing everyone in this nation seems to forget. ".. the police are here to protect society as a whole not the individual." (Might not be an exact quote but close) to what a federal superior court said about police that didn't protect an individual. I can look it up and site it if you want. All this being said. The only person here to protect you is yourself. -707spartan
