"There were buttock prints determined to be by Faith Tsarnas on the front bumper. Lettering and numbering was implanted on the back of Ms. Tsarnas' legs."

Testimony on Day 2 of the of the preliminary hearing for Marcia Kitchen started with CHP Officer William Chase Adams still on the witness stand. Kitchen's attorney, Mr. Patrik Griego, cross examined Officers for almost three hours.

The most crucial part of Officer Adam's testimony was during a brief redirect by Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads.

She showed him a photo that of a Grey Jeep. Adams gave the license number 7JYU882 and identified that this was the vehicle involved in the collision and located at Marci Kitchen's residence. The photo was taken at the CHP evidence locker at Buddy's auto.

Asked how it was determined that this was the vehicle involved in the collision that killed Faith Tsarnas and caused the injuries, that ultimately resulted in the death of Kiya Kitchen,  Officer Adams gave examples which included, "The corresponding left fender was missing, there was distinctive damage from the persons of Faith Tsarnas and Kiya Kitchen corresponding to injuries."

"There were buttock prints determined to be by Faith Tsarnas on the front bumper. Lettering and numbering was implanted on the back of Ms. Tsarnas' legs."

There were also buttock imprints on Kiya Kitchen.

CHP investigation determined "the girls were hit from behind" with the vehicle travelling southbound and the girls travelling southbound.

Officer Adams said Marci Kitchen's demeanor was "defiant and annoyed" when the "crew would not let her get on the plane with her daughter."

He said both Josh Pearlston and he had to take Marci Kitchen by the arm to "guide her and physically stabilize her as she walked to the body."

Officer Adams said at the scene, Marci Kitchen did not provide information that she was the driver of the jeep or any insurance information or her driver's license. She did not provide any of this information at the hospital that night and he said, until today, "at no time, has Ms. Kitchen told any law enforcement, she was the driver of the jeep."

During cross examination, it was brought up that Marci Kitchen admitted to "multiple people" including Rhonda Rex, Joe Kitchen and Jevin Kitchen she was the driver of the jeep.

While that cross examination was interesting, and I have detailed notes, it did not provide any information to prove Marci Kitchen's innocence.

The cross examination included a rehash of CHP vs Kitchen's attorneys, with the winner being Officer Adams.

Officer Adams repeating three times that CHP was unable to get any statement from Ms. Kitchen; all in all Officer Adams was a very consistent witness.

With the exception of clarifying a few quotes, Mr. Griego was not able to impeach any of Officer Adam's testimony.

  1. Ok I'm out. This is disturbing to read. I'm ashamed to admit I was looking forward to articles about this case but I realize now it's just not something I can handle.
