Marci Kitchen placed in Jeep that evening; she laughs with her attorney and glares at prosecutor

While still showing no emotion when testimony was being given about the collision and her own daughter's injuries, Marci Kitchen was talking at times with one of her attorneys, Mr. Benjamin Okin, during cross examination and for most of the morning. She smiled at times during the morning break while chatting with Mr. Okin.

The witness to take the stand in the last half hour was William Trent Stewart, who showed up at the scene with her when she came to check out the collision.

He was short and snappy as Ms. Eads questioned him, having selective memory syndrome, except when convenient to Marci Kitchen. At one point, Marci Kitchen glared at Ms. Eads while she was asking Stewart questions.

90% of his testimony was "I don't recall."

In the morning session, Stewart said Marci Kitchen was driving the Jeep later that evening; in the morning session we are not at the point in testimony related to when the collision.

Stewart will be back on the stand this afternoon.

He drew gasps from the Tsarnas family when he claimed Marci Kitchen was not drinking at all and just having water at a "dive bar" they went to where Josh Pearlston met them.

Stewart said he was a long time friend of Marci Kitchen and had known her since they grew up in the San Diego area but he had never met Jevin Kitchen, Kiya Kitchen, Faith Tsarnas or Josh Pearlston. This was his first visit to Humboldt. Stewart owns a clothing company, Skateboard Surf..

Before court opened, he was chatting with Marci Kitchen supporters. After court resumed in the afternoon, he told Deputy District Attorney he had lunch with Delaney, a friend of Marci Kitchen's he met last July. He also admitted to hugging a few people after the morning session, including Marci Kitchen.

  1. For the life of me I will never understand why Marci Kitchen is bothering with fighting this.....Nobody wants to go to prison but if you did what she did, I believe the only good thing you could do would be to put a large caliber gun to your head and pull the trigger. How could she possibly want to continue to breath after doing such a F'd up thing. I hate Marci Kitchen with every fiber in me!!!!!

  3. At no point did Ms Kitchen laugh with her attorney or glare at the prosecutor. That is a bold faced lie.

    1. Who are you? Were you in court? Even if you were, you could be one of Marci's friends or supporters, I highly doubt her attorneys, who have more sense than to comment on my blog.

I was sitting in the front row where I could very clearly see Ms. Kitchen. She did glare at Ms. Eads when she asked Trent Stewart if he had a cell phone and checked it for time. I am not the only reporter who saw her smiling and chatting with Mr. Okin. If you were not in court, then you are just one of those trolls that needed your one minute of attention to vent and you are despicable to pick this tragedy to do so.

    2. I know someone that was there and witnessed exactly what John Chiv is saying regarding her snarling at the prosecutor and giggling with her attorney.......so whoever for the other anonymous poster above to say that this is a bald faced lie is themselves a LIAR. I would never have thought Marci could have anybody in her corner but then this world does have some pretty awful people in it. So may you and your friend Marci ROT IN HELL.

  4. I hope they hang the bit*h. I've seen her, all smiles. She's been out of the country, having fun. She shows no remorse. Shameful that she was ever called Mom.
