Finally, the Marci Kitchen preliminary starts today with graphic testimony of the Fortuna officer discovering the two victims' bodies

Marci Kitchen's preliminary hearing finally started today in Courtroom 1. Judge John Feeney presiding over this hearing.

The courtroom was packed with family and friends of Joe and Kiya Kitchen and Faith Tsarnas. They took up almost 4 rows in the courtroom. Also present were Mr. Zachary Zwerdling for Joe and,Jevin Kitchen and Ms. Elan Firpo for Jeff Tsarnas.
Local attorney Mel Pearlston, father of Josh Pearlston, Marci Kitchen's boyfriend was present in court with ten other supporters who hugged Marci Kitchen and one said, "I love you" before she went to sit at the counsel table with her attorneys.

Kitchen is charged with Count 1 Vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence; Jane Doe # 1 and Jane Doe #2 with special allegation that she fled the scene and a second special allegation that she caused great bodily injury to Jane Doe #2.

Count 2 Driving Under the Influence of an alcoholic beverage causing injury with special allegation of great bodily injury to Jane Doe #1. It is alleged in the complaint filed that the brain injury caused Jane Doe #1 to become comatose and suffer paralysis. Second special allegation that is alleged is that Kitchen caused great bodily injury or death to Jane Doe #2


The morning testimony was mostly by Fortuna Police Department Senior Sgt. Jason Kadle. CHP Officer William Chase Adams took the stand around 11:45. Officer Adams is also the lead investigator for the People in this case.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is prosecuting the case. Mr. Benjamin Okin and Mr. Patrik Griego are representing Kitchen.

Marci Kitchen now has blonde hair with a braid.
