One female passenger arrested Saturday; two suspects that fled may have been located, controlled substances found in car

On Saturday night CHP was assisted by HCSO and K9 unit from from Fortuna in looking for two suspects who fled on foot.

I just spoke with CHP Sgt. Brandon Lale. One female passenger was arrested on charges of violation of probation and possession of drug paraphernelia. Controlled substances were found in the car.

CHP tried to initiate a stop after they spotted the vehicle which they recognized from a BOLO issued earlier.

Sgt. Lale said he had heard the suspects had been located. According to information he heard, the suspects claimed they spent the night in the woods.  Then they went to a local residence and allegedly told the people in that home, they were involved with the above mentioned incident. Law enforcement was notified.

HCSO did follow up on that lead and were unable to locate the two suspects.

  1. I think they need to change the name from controlled substances to uncontrolled in Humboldt County lately.
