Jon Goldberg smiles at Rachel Goldberg, she smiles back

The defense motion to close the courtroom for the preliminary hearing and the oft rescheduled preliminary hearing for Jon Goldberg's 2017 case was scheduled for 9:45 a.m. this morning.

Deputy District Attorney Trent Timm is prosecuting the case, along with DDA Luke Bernthal.

Rachel Goldberg is first witness scheduled to testify. She is meeting with her court appointed lawyer, Conflict Counsel's Mr. Greg Elvine-Kreis.

Jon Goldberg smiled at her when he came into the courtroom and she smiled back, a small nervous smile but no animosity.

All attorneys just went in after break to talk privately with Judge John Feeney.
