1992 escapee and recently arrested George Scavelli posts bail, preliminary hearing continued



1992 escapee George Scavelli, who was recently arrested in Fortuna, had an intervention hearing yesterday.

Scavelli had a preliminary hearing scheduled this morning.

Yesterday, defense requested a continuance. Intervention is now December 1 at 9:45. Preliminary hearing is December 5 at 9:45.

Scavelli bailed out on October 30.

Scavelli is charged with two counts. Count 1 PC 69 and Count 2 PC 148 (a) 1, Resisting/Obstructing/Delaying a Peace Officer. In both counts, the alleged acts were against Officer Brian Taylor.

Scavelli is being represented by Mr. Benjamin Okin.

  1. Just terrific people! How dumb are you in the legal court system? This should have been a no ball scenario since he was on the lamb since the 70's and now caught. What lead laced water are the judges and prosecutor drinking??DUMB DUMB DUMB. He'll jump bail and be gone forever!!!!!!!

    On the lam since 1992, not the 70s. But that's an awful long time to avoid something that wasn't a murder charge. He could have been out for a number of years already on that. And he gets himself caught by pulling on door handles looking for things to take while a child is being used as his cover. I hope in 2032 that child takes him to task for that. However now that he managed to scrape up enough money to bail out, my non-bail money says we will not see him again for quite some time. Perhaps again in 2032.
