HCSO Crime Suppression Sweep through county results in 4 arrests including Seth Mallo


On Monday, October 17th, 2016, Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Deputies conducted a crime suppression sweep at various locations throughout the county, where there have been repeated calls for service and/or complaints from neighbors about suspected drug/criminal activity. The following arrests were made during the sweep:




At a residence in the 3100 block of 18th Street in Eureka, Deputies located and arrested 37 year old Eureka resident Seth Mallo for violation of Mandatory Supervision Felony Probation.

At a residence in the 1600 block of John Hill Road in Eureka, Deputies located and arrested 28 year old Eureka resident Jacklyn Vejraska for an outstanding warrant, and 30 year old Eureka resident Brandon Duncan for possession of approximately 5.2 grams of suspected heroin.

At a residence in the 2300 block of Jersey Street in Eureka, Deputies located and arrested 51 year old Eureka resident Preston Snider for an outstanding warrant. During a search incident to arrest, Preston was found to be in possession of 2.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

At a residence in the 3100 block of Church Street in Fortuna, Deputies located and arrested 44 year old Loleta resident Duane Bowie for multiple outstanding warrants and resisting arrest, and 32 year old Hydesville resident Michael Wentworth Jr. for outstanding warrants.

  1. Last Friday at about 5:30am, still dark, I witnessed a shirtless man being handcuffed and put into a patrol car at the corner of G St and Sonoma. I heard the name Travis. How do I get info on arrests in my neighborhood? thanks for your postings, H...

    1. All arrests that result in someone being booked into jail are listed online on the Humboldt County Sheriff's website. For that location, that man may or may not have been arrested. You can try calling EPD to see if there was a report. Thank you for your comment.

  2. Doesn't your post about arrests on Church Street in Fortuna justify overwhelmingly that Fortuna needs the 0.75% sales tax increase for my police officers? This is validation beyond contest to support this tax and have everyone vote in favor Nov. 8th. God bless you all.
