Linda Atkins, Neal Latt and others in City Hall lobby trying to get signatures in for a new candidate in Ward 4




I am City Hall right now. In the lobby, there is Linda Atkin, Neal Latt, and others in the City Hall are getting signatures for a new candidate for Ward 4. First name Austin Allison.

He works at St. Joes. Allen McCloskey was with him. He took my business card and said he will email a written statement later.

Papers turned in at 4:59 p.m. 30 signatures. Qualifications will be checked right now, Humboldt County Elections is,staying open late.

Councilmember Kim Bergel was also there. I did not see Councilmember Natalie Arroyo but according to Ryan Burns' photo on LOCO, you can see Councilmembers Bergel and Arroyo's signatures.

The following nominees have qualified for the ballot for offices of the City of Eureka, at the General
Municipal Election to be held November 8, 2016. The nomination period for Wards 2 and 4 is now
closed. Please note that Allen McCloskey who had previously qualified for the ballot has withdrawn his
nomination and will not appear on the ballot for Ward 4.

(Mr. Allison has submitted his nomination papers to the City of Eureka. The County Election’s Office is
verifying those signatures and will be notifying the City in the morning if Mr. Allison qualifies for the 4th Ward.

This morning, according to a City press release, Austin Allison qualified.
